Call it “You didn’t build that!” 2.0. Speaking in Iowa Tuesday, President Obama negated the idea that the wealthy got that way by working for it.
OBAMA: But but but…here’s the thing. I-I-I If you’re lucky enough, if you’re fortunate enough, and been blessed enough, to be in the other 2%, the top 2%, you still get a tax cut for that first $250,000 of income. All we’re saying is, after that, maybe you can do a little bit more to help pay down this deficit, and invest in things like education that help our economy grow.”
This is textbook tax and spend, class warfare liberal Democrat policies, the same kind that have been consistently rejected by American voters since George McGovern.
Every person born in this country is blessed . Only SOME people don’t believe it . They have no clue on how good they have it , even the illegal immigrants have it far better than those in a third world country. Unfortunately those people don’t understand what will become of their freedoms and their hope for a better future , if this leftist is re-elected. I happen to work in a tanning salon , because of the economy , business is way down for several years past , if Obama thinks this tax hike won’t hurt small businesses , he’s wrong. My boss says she’ll likely have to shut the doors and she’s been in business for over 30 years. How many other small businesses will close because of these tax hikes ? I really. Truly do not think Obama cares, I think he WANTS more people totally dependent on government . HOW sad.

No, Mr. President, all you’re saying is that if we pay more, you can & will spend more . . . to pay off your corrupt pals. Invest in things like education? We’re already paying through the nose for progressively worse performances by our students. What do we now rank globally in math, 25th? Science, 29th? Go hear Colin Powell speak if you want to hear a great orator – the man utters not one “uh”, “er”, or “you know” during an hour-long speech.
This is all interesting to me because I’m sorta of an entrepreneur. I say sorta because I’m running an experiment right now. The idea is there, the need is there, in fact it seems like it can’t miss–but so far, despite all the support I’m getting from Barack Obama’s America–roads, schools, etc.–nothing seems to be happening.
Thus, it may be that I actually need to do something myself if anything is ever get built. Trouble is, I really would rather be doing other things, because the field is one that I actually in the past haven’t overly enjoyed the details of, and details and hard work and total dedication are absolutely critical to the realization of this endeavor. Thus, to overcome the fact that I’d really rather be doing something else, I have to have a profit motive of some sort to bother to do anything myself–and so far, the profit (monetary, psychic, what have you) being very unsure, and the downsides being clear, I have only taken halting steps, and the thing otherwise has not spontaneously arisen of its own, and never will. If I don’t do it, it doesn’t look like large chunks of it will ever be done.

As I said, an experiment that has been running some time.
Anonymous, I think I see your problem: you’re just not lucky, blessed or fortunate enough. Become more lucky, blessed & fortunate and that should solve your problem.
Or, go to a few cocktail parties, write a few checks, and the Obamunists will throw a few hundred million of other people’s dollars at your new “entreprenuerial” endeavor. You can then steal all the money, BK the company, and spend the rest of your life sitting on a beach living off the interest and earnings.
It’s simple. Just build solar panels until you go bankrupt.

I’d say the stutters are part of the effect for which he strives … sort of a cross between a folksy Jimmy Stewart/Bill Cosby, with a dash of Samuel L. Jackson playing tossed in to give the rich liberal donors in Palo Alto and the Upper West Side just a slight frisson of anxiety and guilty pleasure that they are in with “the other”.

When you add up my income taxes, FICA, self-employment tax, state income tax, city income tax, property tax, sales tax, excise taxes and licensing fees, I currently pay 53% of my income to various governments. Can you promise me that if I let you raise that number to 56% with this latest tax increase, you will finally have enough of my money and will stop haranguing me for more?
