During a speech in Austin today, Attorney General Eric Holder openly rejected election integrity and downplayed the possibility of election fraud. Christian Adams has the shocking report at his PJ Rule of Law blog.
Holder’s announcement will have profound partisan results in the 2012 election because of his professed unwillingness to enforce laws to prevent voter fraud. Indeed, tonight he made clear his opposition to these laws, such as voter ID and even the requirement to register to vote in advance of an election.
Holder announced broad opposition to voter identification requirements and a ramped up effort to enforce voting registration laws in welfare agencies. He didn’t make any announcements about enforcing Section 8 of Motor Voter to ensure dead people don’t populate the roles. He also said that voter fraud “isn’t a huge problem,” perhaps marking the first time the nation’s chief law enforcement downplayed criminal behavior. Of course that is in vogue in this administration, starting with the New Black Panther dismissal and now with Fast and Furious.
In opposition to Holder, I spoke, as did a group of inspiring patriots starting with Catherine Englebrecht of True the Vote. Anita Moncrief, Reverend C. L. Bryan, George Rodriguez (head of the San Antonio Tea Party) and Adryana Boybe, National Director of VOCES Action followed. Boybe’s speech defending Texas Voter ID may be the first time I heard the policy defended in Spanish. Moncrief, though, had the line of the night – that “Al Sharpton has a platinum race card.”
Holder laid down markers which will excite his base and disturb law abiding citizens. He supported restrictions on political speech which will criminalize campaign falsehoods. He vowed hyper-scrutiny of voter integrity laws such as voter ID and vowed to run states like Texas through a nasty gauntlet on redistricting. If this doesn’t send a signal to Texas and South Carolina to pull their Voter ID laws out of Justice and go to court, nothing else will. Also in attendance was Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez, a staring character in my book Injustice.

Were such laws evenly evenly enforced, the POTUS and his cohorts would find themselves with criminal records.
Since Mr. Holder would be the enforcer of such laws, we know the outcome.
Behold the revolution. It is upon us.
Do you think they’ve thought through what options they’ve left the rest of us, if they corrupt elections to the point they’re no longer effective?
They want to corrupt the election process, to the point that it is discredited. Then they can just keep power permanently rather than have to contest in a “corrupt” process.
Mr. Adams, and Mr. von Spakovsky, seem to have some information/evidence of Holder’s past biased enforcement. There are also Holder’s statements regarding his intentions of what he will and will not enforce.
Why is there no lawsuit against Holder, demanding that he alter his conduct? If such a case was awaiting some precipitating moment, are Holder’s recent utterances not sufficient?
Holder is utterly despicable.
He’ll make a great fall guy for his fellow-travelling, increasingly revealing neo-Marxist bro’s
“He also said that voter fraud ‘isn’t a huge problem,’”
of course it’s not a problem for the left; in fact, it’s very easy for them to accomplish
Don’t forget about Holder’s lack of effort in making sure people in the military are able to vote. Instead he is focused on making it mandatory to register welfare recipients to vote. They aren’t overseas fighting a war. Let them take the initiative.
All the more reason to make this election wind up outside the margin of ACORN/SEIU, Blank Panters, and military disenfranchisement fraud.
Add in the 15% propaganda machine factor…and it is amazing that every election isn’t rigged beyond repair.
A “close” election is no such thing any longer.
We need a landslide. The 113 hirees and their revolutionary guard supervisors have a clear agenda. It is certainly not to aggressively pursue justice for the Republicans…or any other non-leftist.
Occupy the Vote is coming.
We are not remotely prepared.
Sure we’re prepared.
We have guns.
All we need is the will to use them.
Apparently the fascist pigs…excuse me, Democrats…, not content with losing the first Civil War, need to be reminded of a few realities.
Like why they are going to lose the second one, and become synonomous with ‘Nazi’, ‘Communist’, and ‘extinct’.
All the sewage and filth of the Obama administration is flowing
out of the Justice Department.
It seems that everyone is missing all the fun historic goodies in Holder’s appearance at the LBJ library for this particular speech? Talk about a tone deaf screw up! LBJ may have signed the Voting Rights Act, but 1960 was a very controversial election year with proven and unproven voter fraud that to this day is legendary. Many Republicans (including Nixon and Eisenhower) believed that Kennedy had benefited from vote fraud, especially in Texas, of which Lyndon B. Johnson was Senator, and Illinois, home of Mayor Richard Daley’s powerful Chicago political machine.
This was the election that Texans still talk about in terms of dead people voting and ballot boxes being found in ditches. Fannin County had only 4,895 registered voters, yet 6,138 votes were cast in that county, three-quarters for Kennedy.[19] In an Angelina County precinct, Kennedy received a higher number of votes than the total number of registered voters in the precinct.
Then there was the “fix” in Illinois that set in stone the legend of the Chicago Machine. Three Chicago election workers were convicted of voter fraud in 1962 and served short terms in jail.[19] Mazo, the Herald-Tribune reporter, later said that he found names of the dead who had voted in Chicago, along with 56 people from one house. While a Daley-connected circuit judge, Thomas Kluczynski, (who would later be appointed a federal judge by Kennedy, at Daley’s recommendation) threw out a federal lawsuit filed to contend the voting totals. Another 677 others were indicted before being acquitted by Judge John M. Karns, a Daley crony.
I wasn’t even born for this election, but heard all about it and then some from my Grandmother who was a lobbyist for Texas Farm Bureau. Someone needs to have a good time with this bit of history and shove it down Holder’s throat!
Did he stare throughout the entire book? That can be really damaging to your corneas.
(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
