In Barack Obama’s mind, you, dear American, are a lazy person who has gone soft while bitterly clinging to your guns and your God.
For the second time in as many months, President Obama has taken the nation that elected him president to task for its own lackadaisical economic performance on the global stage.
Obama told a group of CEOs today that the United States has gotten “lazy” and that America lost its hunger in promoting itself in a global marketplace.
“We’ve been a little bit lazy over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — ‘Well, people would want to come here’ — and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new businesses into America,” he told the CEOs who are gathered on the sidelines of the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings, which the United States is hosting this year in Hawaii.
My goodness, but this president is kind of stupid. American business is no less ambitious now than it has ever been. The American worker is no less ingenious or productive. But we’re regulated to death by people like Obama. Many Americans are either out of work because of Obama’s policies, or they’re having to work longer and longer work weeks to pay for their house (that’s underwater) or their kids’ college expenses (which never ever go down) or just to make ends meet, knowing that the Social Security they have been paying into their entire lives probably won’t be there when it’s our turn to retire. And that’s in part because this president lacks the courage or common sense to deal with it. He’d rather insult us and run off to another round of golf.
Thank you very much for the insult, Mr. President. We’ll be sure to return he favor and send you into retirement next year.
