When I was liberal, I was a dope: I thought all Republicans were stupid.
Now that I’ve come over to the Dark Side, I’m not quite that dumb as to project my own cluelessness onto my ideological opponents.
But Karen Finney – the MSNBC mouth-mover who opined that the GOP likes Herman Cain because “he is a black man who knows his place” – is making me reconsider. Unless she is secretly working for Cain, because what she said only makes him look good, Finney really is a nitwit. The canard that Republicans are racist is now so square only a liberal of the most fuddy-duddy retro sort could believe it.
Hello, Karen. Republicans are people who largely believe the government spends too much money – not an entirely idiotic opinion given the current state of Keynesian economics. If you think this has to do with race, you might have a look at your own unconscious.

– but how to explain someone like Bashir?
Finney is a bigot and a racist to imply that a black man needs to act in a certain way. And there are no Lefty-Hispanics or Lefty-Blacks who are racist? What a fool.
Maybe not.
Viewing the matter from a conservative perspective, it looks like a comment designed to increase Herman’s share of the primary vote.
But viewing it from the perspective of the general election, it looks like an early step in the Palinization of Mr Cain. But not to worry. It will get a million times worse.
Palinization of Cain will not work so easily…. because it will make you sound like a racist.
(agree however that it will get a million times worse)
The feminine of nitwit is dingbat. Guys nitwits gals dingbats.
I believe a political earthquake of biblical proportions is going to occur in 2012.
1. Herman Cain will be elected POTUS.
2. African-Americans will see the Democratic party for the destructive entity it is.
3. Conservatism will dominate both Houses of the Legislative branch and the Executive branch.
4. Barack Hussein Obama will be exposed for the charlatan he is.
5. The biggest economic boom this country has ever seen will happen.
It is always darkest before the dawn.
Have faith fellow Americans…God is Great.
I believe liberal African Americans are the ones who will Palinize Mr Cain.
Want to make a bet?
I agree with you. It’s the perfect method. Al Sharpton et al will be at the forefront. Expect Sambo images and black face as well.
Sure they will. Why will that matter? Who could they convince to support Obama who isn’t already in the dem tank?
She’s also working very hard to devalue the race card. When people look at the lefty slobbering love affair with Obama, and then see them trashing a black man just because he’s not a lock-step lefty, they’ll see that it’s ideology and not skin color that drives these attacks.
And thus will the race card vanish. Ripped up by those who overplayed it.
Just background noise. Static. Who even hears such stuff anymore?
In all due respect, Mr. Malone, this is one of Roger L. Simon’s great gifts: in all his writings since his first screenplays and his earliest mystery novels — up to and including this brief blog — what you hear as “Just background noise. Static” are exactly the pre-tsunami, pre-earthquake vibes that very sensitive animals and very sensitive cultural observers pick up on, and they’re correct to do so.
Mr. Simon’s observation is not to be pooh-poohed. Mr. Simon is hearing something that will become much more pronounced as time goes on.
You ask, “Who even hears such stuff anymore?” The answer is those rare people, such as Mr, Simon, who has antennae that pick up trends and major movements before they can even be registered on anyone else’s Richter Scale.
Trust me. If Mr. Simon is taking note of it now, 310 million Americans will notice it in about six months. His antennae are amazingly astute.
But that’s the important point: a consistent and overarching philosophy against which one can build a case. There is not an anecdotal case that liberals project their own bigotry, obsessions, false history and view of the world onto others but a rather conclusive one.
Here is an example I have used time and again: there are dozens of prominent mainstream black culture websites; they employ mainstream advertising, celebrities and artists and generally speaking, their biggest bugaboo is white people and their racism.
There is not a single equivalent white website in the US; not only is it forbidden to exist but white folks show no interest in racial identity and refuse to let weird obsession be projected onto them, with the exception of the far Left which embraces it gleefully.
So the people on the Left who claim to have the most interest in content of character are obsessed with race and project their own racism onto people who, generally speaking, are in fact happy with the idea of the content of one’s character and care nothing for racialism.
MSNBC, which employs 2 utter racists, Melissa Harris-Perry and Al Sharpton, who shamelessly advocate and critique by skin color without being called out for it, is a perfect example of ‘doublethink’ and racial hypocrisy.
“MSNBC, which employs 2 utter racists, Melissa Harris-Perry and Al Sharpton, who shamelessly advocate and critique by skin color without being called out for it, is a perfect example of ‘doublethink’ and racial hypocrisy.”
That’s because the Left is about identity politics. Their platform consists of arguing about how much money and power gets taken from whom and given to whom, not what’s in the best interest of the USA as a whole. In order for that to succeed, each group must see itself as an isolated interest group, not as Americans.
The Democrats are the anti-melting-pot.
Who hears it? The 50% of the populace that gets ALL it’s news from TV/Mushroom Media (though primarily the Blig Three).
Remember that CBS/NBC/ABC has five time the audience that FOX does. (Yes, I realize this story is MSNBC, only the corner of the envelope, but those narratives leak out to the rest of the MM.).
Let the Left have all the rope they want, as they try to lynch Herman Cain. They tried to do the same thing to Clarence Thomas, and he’s well into his 40-year stint on the Supreme Court. A large majority of Americans most sincerely do not like froth-mouthed, personal attacks.
Its the left wing wackos who keep talking about race, NOT the conservatives. Methinks that it is the idiot progressives who think you can borrow/spend your way out of poverty/debt who are the racists. If you think you can borrow your way out of debt ask my brother-in-law. He tried it. IT DIDN’T WORK. He filed bankruptcy. That is exactly where we are headed.
Take a nice, warm brown teddy bear and put it beside a cold sick of wood.
Then put a smile on the teddy and a sneer on the stick. You name the teddy
Cain and the stick Obama. I`m a racist. I want the teddy bear.
Cain, the father figure, vs. Barry, the rebellious son, engaged in a national debate. What a sight to behold. Which do you think America will go for in these uncertain times?
Karen Finney is correct. Herman Cain is a black man, descended from sharecroppers and slaves, educated in public schools and black colleges who knows his place. That place is in building great business, sitting in the board room and one day in the White House.
On the other hand, Barry Sotero, stage name Barrack Obama, is a wannabe black man, raised by rich white grandparents, schooled in fancy private schools, and financed by criminals and anarchists who also knows his place. That place is ACORN, union thuggery, and grass-roots rabble rousing. Let’s help Barrack return to the place he loves the most.
I think the person who suggested Palinization is the closest to the mark. Remember, we elected a guy who’d been a Senator for four years, and spent most of that time running for President, and one of the big reasons was because his opponent’s running mate was *inexperienced*! Pretty much everything Finney said about Cain is, in my mind, projection: she’s imagining how Republican voters think based on how Dems thought 3 years ago when they voted for Obama. At the same time, there’s *got* to be a way to get the race issue into this race (the political one for Pres) because without it Obama’s screwed. So accuse the Republicans of racism (it was going to happen no matter who they nominated) and try desperately to drown out how bad the economy is and how badly run everything else has been. Keep shouting racism until no one else is yelling, then yell it some more.
Who knows, maybe it’ll work…
You all forget, the Left does not know they are the racist ones. The Palinization of Cain will indeed be fatiguing and disgusting.
The doofus Karen Finney is right. I do like Mr. Cain because he knows his place. He knows his place is in the Oval Office.
Is there a functioning brain cell anywhere near MSNBC?
I feel a rope a dope re-election coming.
A person who doubts himself is like a man who would enlist in the ranks of his enemies and bear arms against himself. He makes his failure certain by himself being the first person to be convinced of it.
