I’d say the worst case is that you actually win. But maybe that’s just me.
I get what they’re doing here. Team O is trying to build its donor base with micro donations. Give ‘em five and they’ll come back and ask for another five, or ten, or more, later on. But this is a pretty tacky way to do it.
The Obama Campaign did this back in June. (www.abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/06/obama-campaign-offering-dinner-with-barack-for-5/) I wonder who wone back then?
Obama ought to get wise and realize that the prospect of dinner with him, while daunting in itself, becomes positively grim when faced with the prospect that the contents of the dinner will be vetted by his wife.

I never saw anything that indicated that anyone won the dinner back in June. I bet it is nothing but a scam.

This also has the effect of driving down the average donation. One hundred raffle donations plus a maxed out $33,500 single donation yield an average donation of $337; a thousand raffle tickets pulls that average donation down to $38 and allows them to proclaim Obama the choice of the people.
