Just in from the O campaign. Barry wants you to prove your love for him by giving him at least five bucks.
Friend –
You got an email from the President a couple days ago, inviting you to sit down to dinner with him.
I know some people might think this is just some kind of trick or something. It’s not.
The fact is that someday soon, four people reading this note right now will be on a plane to have dinner with President Obama in Washington, or Chicago, or wherever he might be that day.
Think about that for a second. The four people who win will sit down with the President of the United States of America — not for a two-minute photo-op or a quick meet-and-greet, but for a private meal with face-to-face conversation. That’s just not something too many people will ever get to do.
The President obviously has very little time to spend on anything related to the campaign. And this is how he chooses to spend it — having real, substantive conversations with people like you.
This is really something you should be a part of.
Donate $5 today and you’ll be automatically entered for the chance to have dinner with the President and three other supporters.
Worst-case scenario: you don’t get selected. But if you donate, you’ll have pitched in to support an organization that’s funded at the grassroots level by folks across the country — not Washington lobbyists or special-interest PACs. You’ll have given this campaign a boost, however small, to hire organizers, open offices, and build our organization this fall so it’s ready for the hard work ahead of us.
And best-case scenario, you’ll find yourself sitting across the dinner table from President Obama.
So give it a shot — donate $5 or more today:

I’d say the worst case is that you actually win. But maybe that’s just me.
I get what they’re doing here. Team O is trying to build its donor base with micro donations. Give ‘em five and they’ll come back and ask for another five, or ten, or more, later on. But this is a pretty tacky way to do it.

The Obama Campaign did this back in June. (www.abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/06/obama-campaign-offering-dinner-with-barack-for-5/) I wonder who wone back then?
Obama ought to get wise and realize that the prospect of dinner with him, while daunting in itself, becomes positively grim when faced with the prospect that the contents of the dinner will be vetted by his wife.
“…on a plane to have dinner with President Obama in Washington, or Chicago, or wherever he might be that day.”
Jetting cross-country to have dinner. How GREEN!
I would love to have dinner with Mr. Obama. He wouldn’t like my questions, but I would have fun.
I never saw anything that indicated that anyone won the dinner back in June. I bet it is nothing but a scam.
If you win, do you have to pay income tax on the imputed value of your winnings?
Political prostitution, thy name is Obama. =^[.]^=
This also has the effect of driving down the average donation. One hundred raffle donations plus a maxed out $33,500 single donation yield an average donation of $337; a thousand raffle tickets pulls that average donation down to $38 and allows them to proclaim Obama the choice of the people.
