Standard and Poor’s are a bunch of stinky poopie heads, and the US still has a AAA rating with the Silent Majority.
You forgot the “So there!”.
Keep in mind, S&P is partly responsible for the melt-down we currently live in.
Their corrupt, inflated ratings helped sell the “mortgage-backed” monstrosities that crashed our economy.
But it doesn’t help that we’re being lead by a weak, Nixonian President who doesn’t understand how the world works.
True, but in S&P’s defense, knowing they lost credability last time by not downgrading questionable debt that should have been downgraded, maybe this time they don’t want to make the same mistake, and decided they would downgrade before the debt crash happened, not after. Clearly if you look at projections of US debt vs GDP, out debt is clearly headed for Greek levels if we dont do something. Obama did what he always does, blame others and shoot the messenger, rather than proposing a real solution, long term spending restraint.
Of curse since the US controls our own currency, unlike Greece, we dont technically have a default risk, since the fed can print infinite amounts of money to buy the debt. But if that happens, the US dollar becomes worthless, like weimer germany, and any fixed return investment denominated in US dollars, like US debt, also becomes worthless. That is the real risk, and S&P was right to warn us against it.
Jimmy’s sweater speech is starting to look good in comparison…
Never thought I would see a time when I had a president that inspired LESS confidence than Jimmy Carter.
I am NOT a crybaby!!! [stamps foot]
You forgot to add the essential qualifier
So who do you think will win, Hillary or Rick?
Well, back to the present, Hillary is currently winning.
“S & P Acted Stupidly.”
“S&P acted stupidly.” You forgot to add the essential qualifier: “And they’re racists.”
And that’s the truth. Pbbbbt!
Silent, or Slient?
We didn’t need S&P to tell us that we needed to fix our political system??
Well, DUH, that’s what the electorate of this fine country told in the 2010 elections, only 9 months earlier.
Only you didn’t listen. So now we’ll just have to repeat the message in 2012.
See you at the ballot box, Mr. President.
p.s. there’s no need to “hope he fails” any longer. It’s already happened.
Lions and tigers and roads and bridges, oh, MY!
The Silent Majority is broke, and while you may be triple A with them, they ain’t going to loan you any money.
How bout stopping with the class warfare stuff and letting the wealthy build their businesses, hire people and get the economy moving, instead of demonizing and scaring? Stop with the class warfare, give peace a chance.
Love it, charlie/
Once again we see what happens to the bearer of bad news. Or when people tell you things you’d rather not hear. Obama would much rather ignore what life is telling him, because if he listened he wouldn’t be able to pull the stunts he’s been pulling
It’s simple, Barry, we don’t have the resources. Unless we let the economy grow we’ll never have the resources. But by the way our President has behaved, our economy is more apt to shrink, which will result in the loss of resources and an even worse outcome for us.
The way things are going I’m becoming willing to overlook the flaws of people such as Bachman and Perry, since they are minor compared to the great flaw exhibited by Barack Obama.
Things are changing.
