In a joint conversation with President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and just after the speech by Obama where he stated that Israel should return to 1967 borders, Netanyahu proceeded to give Obama, and the world, an important history lesson, along with a masterful refutation of Obama’s call for the new border set up.
Netanyahu also reminded the President, and the world, that it was Israel that absorbed many refugees during the formation of Israel. However, it was the Arab states — Israel’s neighbors – who refused to accept the Palestinian refugees. This is important to remember when viewing the Middle East — the Palestinians were left for dead by the same nations that now use them as a rallying cry to wage war against Israel. The Palestinians are being (and have been) played as pawns by their so-called allies.
Netanyahu was clear, that Israel will not return to 1967 borders, which, as Netanyahu said with a perfect understanding of America, will (paraphrasing) leave Israel half as wide as the Washington Beltway. Further, Netanyahu said that Israel can not negotiate with the Palestinians while they are connected to Hamas, which he referred to as, “…the Palestinian version of Al Qaeda.”
More commentary will be available on the Tatler and on PJTV.com, but the prime minister was clear – Israel will not accept the president’s position as laid out in his policy speech, Israel will defend itself and that a Palestinian “homeland” will not exist within the Jewish State.

Good for Bibi. Obama is a nitwit.
I was in the car for a couple of hours yesterday. I flipped the radio from Sean Hannity to Public Radio. The BBC was on the local public radio station. Both Sean Hannity and the BBC used the same long soundbite from Netanyahu at the White House. Sean Hannity was expressing embarrassment for the President being kindly lectured about basic history. The BBC had a person from J Street.
The most telling part of the two extremes was the cut of one short phrase from the middle of the Netanyahu soundbite. The BBC cut out the words, “because the attack of Israel was so attractive from them” during Netanyahu’s description of the 1967 borders.
On the NPR news later in the evening, they did not even cover Netanyahu’s statement. Instead, they interviewed a Palestinian negotiator and did not challenge him on basic flaws in his remarks. We have Netanyahu acting as a world class statesman, with a petulant-acting President Obama, and all NPR can do is provide BBC coverage that takes out the most important one second from a five minute soundbite and uses J Street for a base of objectivity, and then on All Things Considered, interview a mouthpiece for anti-Israel propaganda.
I know. I know… preaching to the choir. But the dishonesty of cutting this tiny string of words is very telling.
God bless Bibi. Can he run for president? as a Republican??? how about California??
Bibi schooled him on worldwide television! That felt good!
It was sweet! Someone real ‘gutsy’ had to bi*chslapp him!
WONDERFUL reply to Obama by Bibi. He made us proud.
Now THAT is a STATESMAN. I want to have dinner TONIGHT, with Bibi (headof the table) VDH, Sowell, Roger Simon,David Solway, Driscoll, Zombie, Breitbart, the Trifecta crew, Rush, Levin, Caroline Glick and I would like a special surprise appearance by Geert Wilders, he flies in just as were winding down.
I think i just peed my pants. Oh and just as were all about to leave someone shows up with the LA times video of Obama at that Palestinian event where he made a speech, you know the one the LA times is holding on to.
Now that’s what I call an all nighter.
Roger get to work on that would you!
I wrote the article….how am I not invited to dinner?

Tony, your the master of ceremonies, by the way what’s on the menu, please no kobe beef or arugula!
Permanent newbie, you and I can bask in the the background. We’ll look like Moses (Charleton Heston) when he comes down from the mount, glowing from the glory of God. we will then set forth amongst the calf (Obama) worshipping heathens and tell them of what we witnessed.
Please, maryann, would you invite me too? I promise not to say a word; merely to bask in the glory would be far more than enough…!
Oh and we also need Iowahawk on the other end of the table across from Bibi.
maryann you plan a hell of a party. You’ll have to rebroadcast it for later though. I’d buy tickets to watch.
And once again, I’m more proud of how someone else’s governmental leader handles an obama moment than I am of obama.
I’ve known for years that he’s merely an accomplished Chicago Thug, with a mastery at playing race and class in his quest for personal power and money. But I never thought he’d simply drop the veil of respectability so quickly and so dramatically as what he’s shown in this instance with Israel, and in his many recent Executive Congressional Bypasses.
The Right celebrated mightily after the last national election, but I’m afraid it was premature. He’s going to steal the country by acting unilaterally, and we’re just going to watch and complain. We’ll have the NLRB splitting ownership of companies by doubling the outstanding stock and giving the new half to the unions; we’ll see corporate decision-making authority become completely Washington-rooted; he will onerously tax any and all energy sources, only because it would be too crass to simply tell us to “send it all in”; he’ll shut down the entire Republican Southwest by outlawing their water sources through EPA’s voice; we’ll watch as our borders become completely open and unguarded, except for the clerks at the crossings telling all newcomers they can come in only if they’ll promise to always vote Democrat; and when the next election nears, we’ll discover that our 401k accounts have all disappeared, gone to buy enough other group votes for BO’s re-election.
Even now, I don’t think one tenth of this country understands what a despicable thief BO really is.
“However, it was the Arab states — Israel’s neighbors – who refused to accept the Palestinian refugees”
And when they did accept them they got war in return. Check out the Black Septmeber. Interesting reading concerning what they did to Jordan.
Sheesh. No wonder Obambi won’t release his college grades.
joint conversation?
what the heck is a joint conversation?
Paul A’Barge,
Good point. Should have been “joint conference” or “speaking in front of reporters.” Now, what about the rest of the article, and your thoughts on what was actually said? That is the important stuff.
– Tony
As I expected, he ate Obama’s lunch.
BIBI BASHES BAMA wHAT A GREAT TITLE FOR A BOOK
Unfortunately Obie could avenge a public take down with withholding funds to Israel.
Wonder how proud Mort Zuckerman, Joe Lieberman, and Ed Koch are with Hope and Change.
I’m reading a book now on George Washington. I just got through the part where the battle to defend New York City from the English was a lost cause because of all the waterways – the English could simply bombard anywhere with shipboard cannon. The city had to be abandoned to the English, which turned out to be a Godsend, since future battles were far enough inland to invalidate the superior English navy.
So if narrow strips of land under bombardment being indefensible was understood in 1776 using the technology of the day, what rock have the “Progressives” been sleeping under since the Middle Ages?
Netanyahu’s unscripted remarks. Obama’s body language speaks volumes. Compare and contrast a man who believes in something bigger than himself and a man who believes in nothing whatsoever execpt his own vanity.

Bibi redeemed himself in those few minutes.
Dick Stanley,
I couldn’t agree more. To some, Netanyahu was seen, as of late, as weak on this subject. His response to Obama was the best I have seen him in years, and, I assume, will change that view of him.

Israel is a lion with a worthy PM.
I wish Netanyahu would have done more; really kick Obama in the balls. To merely – tacitly – point out the errors in Obama’s designs is not enough. This man has no real feedback loop that tells him, Israelis in this case notice Obama HAS put them on a course to self annihilation. You, sir, can go straight to hell!
Just watched the entire video…
Smackdown!!!
OK, I did – just now – watch the video:

Netanyahu did better than I gave him credit for. I still wish he was more forceful, but I guess it’s just not going to happen.
Who is the bust on the left of the screen?
I’m reminded yet again of Mark Steyn’s characterization of the Palestinians as “the most comprehensively wrecked people on earth.”
Excuse me. In the interest of correctness: Mark Steyn called the Palestinians “the most comprehensively wrecked people on the face of the earth.”
In 1948, the Arabs were “displaced” from Israel and the Jews were “displaced” by the Arabs – and most importantly – in approximately equal numbers. Israel took in the “displaced” Jews and the Arabs did not take in the “displaced” Arabs. In short, it was a population exchange. How in the world did the fate of Arabs, among other Arabs, become the problem of Israel?
The Israelis took care of their co-religionists, why should they also be expected to take care of the Arab’s co-religionists? Are the Germans going to be allowed to return to their former territories in Central Europe, any time soon? Are Poland and the Czech Republic going to be made responsible for the displaced Germans? Is Obozo as historically ignorant as he sounds? I’m thinking that’s a no, no, yes. BTW, how come we never hear them making any noises about compensating all those Jews, who were “displaced” with barely the clothes on their backs. Somewhere deep in the recesses of the Israeli psyche, I’ll bet there is some wondering if it wouldn’t have been better to do to the Arabs after the Six Day War, what the Poles and Czechs did to the Germans after WW2.
Pretty obviously, with the democraps becoming aware of where the “sewer pipe leads into faculty lounges, to marinate their politicians” … the real fear is the loss of power the ensues.
Obama’s move? Speech give at the State Department!
The democraps want to “move” America’s military might away from the Pentagon, to STATE! Where “executive powers” control. This way, taxpayer money can be tossed to the IMF. Where it is tossed to the PIGS.
Sure, you saw Bibi “diplomatically” telling Obama that Israel isn’t gonna move out of homes. We’re not in gaza, anymore. And, given wheat prices … there’s a good chance that starting in September, egyptians begin dying of starvation. They will have plagues, before they have democrapcy.
The bigger question remains. How can we get State out of foreign affairs? What will happen to our military, where John Kerry thrives? Invested with more power than most senators have. And, the GOP is just a mess, too.
Maybe, it needs pointing out that Senator George Mitchell handed in his resignation BEFORE “the speech” was given? Don’t some of you wonder why?
Bibi’s comments about the refugee problem need further elaboration. There are many refugees in the refugee camps that are second and third generation. How can someone who has lived his/her entire life in one place, whose parents have always lived in the same place, whose grandparents in many cases have always lived in the same place be considered refugees? Mike Giles (@23) makes a very good point: “Are the Germans going to be allowed to return to their former territories in Central Europe any time soon?” The refugee camps are simply being used by Palestine apologists to tell the world how badly Isreal is treating people who only want a right to return. Return where?
When Arik Sharon told George W. Bush that pre-1967 Israel was nine miles wide at its narrowest point, Dubya reportedly said, “In Texas we have driveways longer than that.”
