Condemn this awful act of illegal American violence!

A year ago, Israel’s Mossad targeted a Hamas operative in Dubai. It was a clean hit: he was killed in a hotel room. No collateral damage. They just had to change the sheets.

There was a lot of outrage, of course. ‘This is a breach of international law.” “The Israelis disregard national boundaries.” “It is stupid because targeted killings don’t solve anything.” This one was also often used: “Israel is no safer or better liked because Mossad is effective at homicides.”

Well, the the Navy Seals are also very effective at targeted killings. Is the USA safer after Bin Laden’s death? Certainly not. But it feels rather good.

So, the Pakistanis were not involved and this operation was executed on foreign soil. A blatant breach of international law! So, where are you, defenders of international law? Isn’t it logical you start condemning the targeted killing of Osama bin Laden? No due process, no legal rights? The Seals shot to kill. And President Obama authorized the killing.

True progressives of the world, unite and condemn this awful act of illegal American violence!

Simple answer, really. “International Law” says whatever politician/pundit/academic X wants it to say at a particular moment. It is the ultimate living, breathing document!

I’m waiting for the Navy to update their recruiting posters:
    SEALs:

When it absolutely, positively needs to be shot in the F#%&ing face, accept no substitute.

  3. Yes! President Obama and his whole crew must be tried instanter for war crimes.

Osama should have been gassed (harmlessly) on the basis of a properly supported and issued warrant, put into a deep sleep with the advance permission of Pakistan (judicially approved, of course, at all appellate levels) and transported to New York City for trial in a civilian court. There, he would have had all of the constitutional protections available to those other poor souls driven by abject poverty and by our wicked ways to inflict well deserved harm on the United States and her excessively rich parasites. That’s what we do for those poor Pirates of Somalia when we catch them. Osama is little different and President Obama is guilty of violating his human rights in the most egregious manner possible. Ditto those who suffered collateral damage. What must Attorney General Holder think? Was he even consulted? Why has the Civil Rights Division not been heard from yet?

It’s just not fair! Where are the Libruls? The sound of silence can be deafening.

  4. Liberal hypocrisy is always astonishing to behold. But these events have put liberals into a whole new stratoshpere of hypocrisy. They will celebrate their one doing that for which President Bush was called “worse than Hitler.”

Now now, no need to bring up Bush/Hitler the left will say.

Trust us, this time it’s totally different.

I can hear the hypocrisy already, no need to wait.

In Germany they’re on it already. They started right away. Their instinctless anti-Americanism which goes far beyond criticism is disgusting as it goes beyond the protection of human beings, unguilty civilians, in New York, London, Madrid, Mumbai, Iraq and wherever bin-Laden meddled. Read Sir Salman in thedailybeast. That’s why there are so despicable. They love their own ideology more than human beings who were killed in skyscrapers, trains, hotels and on the streets. Another tip: Watch Helmut Schmidt and Scholl-Latour on Reinhold Beckmann’s show. Schmidt is grotesque. One should assume he know better.
