How Can We Possibly Trust Obama on Iran?

November 7th, 2013 - 7:39 pm

The Roman legal maxim Falsus in Uno, Falsus in Ominibus, meaning one who testifies falsely on one thing cannot be trusted on anything, may be a bit of an exaggeration. But what about Falsus repeatedly, as Barack Obama has been?

How can we let a president who has lied dozens of times about our healthcare negotiate something as cataclysmic as nuclear weaponry with Iran? How can we possibly trust him?

And yet that is happening before our eyes. The Wall Street Journal is reporting:

Iran and world powers expect to announce an initial deal as early as Friday to curb Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for an easing of sanctions, a step that would mark the first breakthrough in a decade to blunt the threat of Tehran developing nuclear weapons.

Secretary of State John Kerry will fly to Geneva on Friday to complete the deal, the State Department said.

Fromt the New York Times:

But even as the two sides tried to finalize the agreement on Thursday, fissures have widened between the United States and some of its principal allies over the potential pact, which has been hailed by the Obama administration as a possible breakthrough in the yearslong standoff over Iran’s nuclear aspirations but dismissed by critics as a temporizing measure that would leave the core of Tehran’s atomic program intact.

Wonder who those principal allies might be? Probably not. Who would want to be Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu at this moment? It’s clear he does not have an ally in the White House, but he has undoubtedly known that for some time, since he was unceremoniously escorted out the back door of that building. Or, if not then, when Obama made not a peep when the Green Movement democracy demonstrators cried out to him for help from the streets of Tehran — the worst moment of his administration until the lies about Obamacare and Benghazi trumped all.

If you've got a nuclear program you like, you can keep it.

Obama is not only untrustworthy, but actively courting the other side. He embraced the islamist Muslim Brotherhood victory in Egypt, and was willing to send them advanced weaponry and full aid even as they attempted to crush the nation's independent institutions and stage the sort of "constitutional coup" that every islamist government that ever won an election did. But when a quarter of Egypt's population took to the streets to demand Morsi's ouster and the Army complied, aid is suddenly under question.

The radicals who killed our Ambassador and personnel in Benghazi openly walk free.

Israel is threatened with a third Infitada by the US Secretary of State. Iran is given a pass to build a nuclear weapon by the President.

Obama is not just a liar; he is actively on the other side.

THE IDEA OF OBAMA LYING ABOUT HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE SEEMS ALL THE MORE LIKELY, NOW, DOESN'T IT?
How he got into Columbia or Harvard, his grades, all the stuff brought up before and scoffed at by the MSM now seems all the more plausible. It should be clear that this guy will lie about anything. And has. He couldn't be trusted before he was elected and he can't be trusted now. Any questions?

obama is a sociopath; of course it lies. it cannot produce a genuine birth certificate and its nationality and low grades necessitated hiding them from the public. it is a lowbase, morally neutered entity ; a thing possibly not even a human being, even of the most primitive sort. It kills innocent, unborn babies, promotes and practices sex perversion, works hard to destroy our economy, lives luxuriously in the face of his own extended family's poverty, weakens our national defenses and rushes to support every islamic aggression everywhere. In spite of that, most of us wanted it for president, and 42%, unbelievably, still do! If we did not permit persons without morals to vote we would not be saddled with this monster from the abandoned outhouse.

Israel is not alone. She has reached out to sane and responsible governments throughout the world who will defy the US and the Persians and side with her. What's more is support for Israel among our population has not been stronger today than since the Six Day War. Congress will jump at the chance to defend Israel and wring Obama's neck over this. That includes Democrats. (Everyone thinks no one is paying attention, while everyone is.)

Well, we have reached this point. The inevitability of arrival was assured, and is now confirmed. I was visiting somebody last week, they had the TV on, and there was Kerry, that long, near-Lincoln-like face with the Algore brain up above, and I said to my host, 'He's here again?' 'Making peace,' was the quiet answer, tired in a way that Israelis learn young. I quoted a headline from the paper the day before, a liberal rag at that - 'Iran is the same Iran.'

I am pretty tired of pro-Israel American conservatives oy-gevalting us now. I am getting old, I know. But I read a piece by VDH on how the ME deserves American isolationism - and I know he doesn't mean to include Israel in his slam - and then I recoil. I am sorry, I recoil. To quote IBarKahn above, but Roger; but, Roger: but Roger. You have accepted the legitimacy of this pasty-soft-fascist regime. Radosh and a few others sliced up Snowden (no friend of Israel, I am sure); Moran gives us 'both American political wings equally guilty' in a stew of righteous confusion; Green goes deep-cynical with his vodka and gives us no answers. Swindle hits us with his America Reset 3.0, and Ledeen wants the CIA to sneak in a few dozen Jesus Angleton's into Iran to catalyze the genius potential of the latent (or 'murdered, raped and tortured' - my words) Iranian opposition. Meanwhile, this Administration of idiots not only goes along with Euro appeasement of Iran, it leads the charge. Hagel is a piece of wood with a proven dislike of Jews. Kerry is the guy who so irritated Dubya Bush's people in 2004 that the latter threatened to release John's IQ scores from the army. And in the White House and around it, you have the ruthlessly efficient ideologues like Holder and Jarrett, and the MB advocates, including at Homeland Security, and prohibitions written into Admin policy against even daring to attempt to understand Islamic theology or the (Islamic) basis of the Jihad, and the actions of those who believe in it. They are not true Muslims, they are enemies of Islam, etc., as the British Prime Minister said about the murderers who hacked up the in-uniform Afghanistan veteran in London some months ago.

I see that in Israel, for all the cynicism and quiet disgust with local politics, there is an energy and a will, and a faith that does not often appear in the daily grind. I don't see that any more in America. I see Hanson reassure us, that for all of its organic California-style decline, America is still, like, 'way cool'; I see the conservatives at war with each other. Horowitz and Radosh - can't change the RINO reality? Rip on Diana West - that should help.

We have ourselves, we have some mighty fine, mostly religious Israel-supporters around the world. We have Harper, for now, and we have ourselves. Roger Simon won't save me.

I can't imagine why Obama called Netanyahu on the Jewish Sabbath -- unless it was to gloat.

Circle the wagons, arm the women and children.

America's and the West's failure is epic. Nothing left but for God to reduce Christians to the righteous remnant, as He has done to Israel before.

God speed to Jewry as we (Christians) face His wrath.

The foolish naivity of the US medias is astonishing; the foolish ostrich head in the sand behavior of the american jews is unbearable, the Republican party choice of " Dinosaurian " candidate like Romney, or Gingrich etc...is unbelievable. The israeli inertia is also hard to justify. It seems a " ten years too late " historical mistake again: 1948 Israel Birth was ten years too late, since jews relied on the democracies to defend them and payed a bitter price for that kind of cheap insurance. Now in 2013 Israel is exactly in the same posture taking a cheap insurance with some western countries but ten years too late.Iran should have been the first target of G.W.Bush axis of evil but he choosed to hit Bagdad instead of Teheran. And Sharon should have attacked Iran in 2003 insteaf of wasting time with the PLO.
