Javier Solana goes out on a limb

September 3, 2007 - 2:38 pm - by Roger L Simon

In reaction to the Palestinian rockets hitting a day care center in Sderot, Israel yesterday, the Eurocrat made the following risky remark, according to the AP.

“I know what it means, and to see today again the same experience for the people, in particular at a time when kids are in school, I think it’s something that I have to condemn,” he said.

Ya think?

Something is seriously wrong with this guy.

  2. “The inaccurate rockets rarely cause serious injuries or damage, but they have killed 12 people in the past seven years, and because of their frequency, wreak panic in the city”

I wonder how these reporters and editors would feel if similar “inaccurate” weapons were being fired on their neighborhoods?

“Ya think?” It does fall under the blinding glimpse of the obvious category.

However, what I find interesting is the comment later in the article about Israel defending itself from a group that has pledged to “wipe Israel from the map.”

“While some politicians have urged the government to cut off essential supplies of fuel and power to Gaza’s 1.4 million residents, others have warned that such actions would bring a diplomatic backlash and be morally indefensible.”

Some think it is morally indefensible for Israel to protect it’s citizens. While this may not be the only course of action, my guess is that there is a segment that would claim it is morally indefensible to protect onself regardless of the circumstances.

It seems as if we are not the only ones afflicted with myopic, weak-minded Neville Chamberlains.

Ahmadinejad says he will make the US bow to the Iranians and Allah in front of the White House and destroy Israel. The rantings of a lunatic, arming himself with nuclear capability. I think they said that about Hitler too.

    Hmmmmm………..

By the way, the reference to Hitler is to his views of the domination of the Tird Reich and the superiority of the German race and not nuclear weapons.

  5. 5. Deagle

I would say that there is something seriously wrong with Europe…and probably will be fatal. Really nice of that reporter to recognize the fact that these rocket attacks can actually be dangerous to Israels. They are next on the Islamic hit list and just don’t realize it.

    Re Deagle’s comments:

The Europeans know very well they’re next. They just hope that cooperating in throwing Israel to the wolves will delay the attack on Europe long enough to enjoy a few more years of cappucinos and lazy afternoons in the cafes.

Geeze, I can hardly understand the guy’s words, not being in the nuanced class. How hard is it to talk “straight”? Did the guy say those words in other language and the translation got botched?
