How could anyone SANE accept anything that looks like a crescent under the cirumstances? And it seems that the the number of glass cubes equals the number of victims PLUS the number of villains.

Youíre way too pessimistic. The odds are on our side. We must merely make sure to protect our First Amendment rights—and vote Republican except in rare instances. Everything else should fall into place.

aol.com has given the Mumbai bombings no better than second billing all day. The top story? Catty remarks flying between Bill O’Reilly and Keith Oelbermann. Which, of course, is sooooo much more important than a massive, coordinated terror attack on a major world city and the death or injury of over 600 brown-skinned people.

Luther, all it was is just, they want to freak us out, and maybe after enough murder, murder won’t freak us out anymore. Then they’re sort of disarmed, in a weird, sad, way.

That could be, but in this case, I rather suspect that the reasoning went, “Well, it’s way over there, and no Westerners were hurt. So who cares?” Heck, Drudge eventually subordinated the Mumbai story to the fact that TV ratings hit an all-time low last week.
I guess my point is that it’s more a case of not understanding how the WoT has really shrunk the world: that New York, Madrid, London, Bali and Mumbai are really not that far apart, because we all face the same enemy, and that enemy makes little distinction between us, whether we are American or European, Catholic or Protestant or Buddhist (there’s Islamic terror in Thailand, too) or Hindi or even not the right sort of Muslim.

Yup, naive fools like myself were convinced that America had little to fear. It didnít really matter that Bill Clinton would never feel comfortable being a wartime president. Domestic issues could now dominate our concerns. The USSR was our last major threat—and the Islamic terrorists could easily be handled by our police departments and legal system. Oh well, I once also believed in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus.
Well, the Bombay Sensex closed today–the bombs went off after it closed yesterday–up three percent. A big, big move, only explainable as a huge “F**K YOU” to the terrorists. Just as we were saying up above–the worm is slowly turning.
