Just arrived. No blogging until later tonight Pacific time. Meanwhile, rejoice in what appears to be a Big Orange Victory.

In a releated development, Jimmy Carter and Jesse Jackson have gone on a three-day bender and Christine Gregoire has offered to go to Moscow and show Putin how to recount ballots with a puppet on each hand…

    Roger and Family -

Welcome to Seattle. Actually, you are going to get a few nice days, weather-wise. It won’t be warm – but sunny. Enjoy!

You mentioned elsewhere that half the city is wifi’d, which leads me to the observation that never has so much information been available to so much “self-ascribed” intellect yielding so little effect and so little depth or diversity.

This is a city that voted Kerry by some 6 to 1 ratio. A state that is referred to as “the People’s Republic of Washington” (is that a slap in the face to former communist countries?) is really two states (many on the coast are) the Puget Sound region around Seattle (blue) and the rest of the state, mostly rural (red) so in this context I refer to the mono-culture of the Puget Sound. They think they are diverse when in fact they are uniformly politically correct and the diversity consists of skin color, nation of origin and versions of left/progressive thought.

But you knew that already, so enjoy the natural beauty and share your thoughts – you will find kindered spirits for your social agenda – the rest may not be so welcome.

Roger, welcome to you and the fam to Seattle. A few other good places to eat – Anthony’s in Shilshole for lunch or dinner. Union Square Grill – great seafood, despite the name.

Enjoy the fine weather – if it remains sunny on Tuesday, sunset from the top of the Space Needle can be unforgettable!
