5 New Victories for Muslim Enemies of Free Speech

Just a few weeks ago I wrote an article for PJ Lifestyle titled “5 Ways the Islamic War on Free Speech Advanced Last Week.” Since then, the Islamic supremacist enemies of the freedom of speech have racked up even more victories, in the United States as well as in Muslim countries.

5. Iran: British woman jailed for “insulting Islamic sanctities,” in danger of execution

A British-Iranian woman, Roya Saberi Negad Nobakht, has spent the last five months in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison for writing on Facebook that Iran’s government was “too Islamic.” Arrested during a visit to Iran to visit family members, she has been charged with “insulting Islamic sanctities.” British authorities are indignant about this affront to the freedom of speech.

The British government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is “urgently” examining Nobakht’s case, but why? In Britain (and America as well) it is a de facto crime to insult Islamic sanctities. A British man, Mark Stephenson, ripped pages from a copy of the Qur’an and threw them onto the ground at a soccer match. He was arrested and recently fined £235 for doing so. If Britons must therefore pay proper Sharia-dictated respect for the Qur’an or face monetary penalties, the British government has no leg to stand on in complaining about the Iranians’ prosecution of Roya Nobakht.

Leftists use a blanket charge of "bigotry" to suppress any criticism of Islam. By definition "bigotry" is an undue negative criticism. Clearly all the charges listed by Spencer are true! But the left refuses to define Islam and therefore everyone is on notice that they don't know when they cross the line. Nothing critical of Islam is tolerated. Thus, we see the absurdity when well known facts can't even be discussed.

Honor killings are either widely accepted or Islamic governments turn a blind eye to the practice. Fact! Censorship is the norm in Muslim nations. Fact! Islam's founder was a military and political leader seeking to establish power. Fact! Yet there is a taboo against discussing anything critical, an a priori prohibition that disallows an examination of the subject matter.

The left finally gets the censorship it has alway wanted. Islam is just a prop.

"British authorities are indignant about this affront to the freedom of speech."

Oh? And what do they propose to do about it? Considering that when British Navy seamen and their boat were unlawfully seized by Iranian forces despite being in international waters, Her Majesty's Government did nothing at all, I don't expect much action in defense of Miss Nobakht.

Folks, if Islam and Islamic philosophy is a "peaceful, deliberative pseudo-religion" I'll gladly eat my straw hat. I'll put some ranch dressing over it and just munch away at the straw ladened hat. O.K., having said that, some questions arise: 1) why are only males allowed in mosques? 2) why are rows, upon rows, only males on bended knees, praying, reciting their Holy Book, receiving homilies attacking women, gentiles and Judeo-Christians in general? 3) Why is there: Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Shabab et al,i.e., militant arms of Islam's Holy Book inciting a self denominated Holy War against other societies religious under-pinnings (be they in the middle east, Africa Western Europe, North America or even Latin America)? Seems to be pretzel twisting on the same order as Marxism...different flavor, that's all. Islamic thought, word, deeds and philosophy is very deviously, incoherent. Like Nazism, just a BOOK of Lies, prophetic utterances and excuses for enslaving continents of citizens and religious individuals...without rhyme or reason. Islamic Religiosity is like reasoning with a household cat...does what it wishes and claims it was ALLAH ordering the action. Almost like a cat meowing, the TUNA made me do it. About the same thing. As for the harm dome to Muslim women, is totally criminal, especially female circumcision...an affront to human kind. Where are americas women, decrying this blasphemy!!!!!???? Now, there's a real cause celebre!!!! Crickets.

Political Correctness will be the death of the West.
In general, I don''t believe in banning anything but if anything should be banned, it should be Political Correctness as well as any would-be immigrant who believes in it. Political Correctness is fiercely un-American, totally alien to American thought and probably of commie origin. It's dangerous and it's pure evil.

To me, what PC really is today is people hiding in anti-oppression movements who are in reality are simply racists and bigots going for everything they can get. That's why they cry "racism" at every challenge to them.

The Global Political Elite love and admire Islam, because Islam (Shari'ah) rules through fear and penalty of death.

It makes for an easily controlled populace.

If we as a nation do not grow up and officially recognize that CAIR is a functionary of totalitarian Islam, then they will create a Western Caliphate. Impeaching the Manchurian President would be a good start, but those charged with that task do not have the stones.

It would be a waste of time and effort while the Dems control the Senate. When Clinton was impeached by the House, the trial, by law conducted by the Dem-majority Senate, resulted in every single Dem Senator, including Lieberman, voting "not guilty." This was after they had taken an oral oath and signed a promise to hear the trial impartially. If there is to be an impeachment with any chance at all for a fair trial, it must wait.

In a sane world, after he leaves office he would be arrested for sedition.

The biggest problem with the Clinton Impeachment was not the joke vote in the Senate. Lindsey Graham, then a House Manager for the Impeachment, purposefully omitted the most egregious crime from the Articles, lying under Oath to a federal judge. Clearly a deal was struck behind the scenes to leave out this critical and Impeachable offense so the Senate would not have to toss the slimy statesman from office, which should have been done. Instead, the perverted former president only lost his law license for eight years and we continue to be subjected to the supposed wisdom from an alleged elder statesman who should be forever labeled a disgrace.

I don't know what your source is, Brand. Haven't been able to find it. However, I don't see how adding the charge as you have explained it would have made any difference to the political MIS-loyalty of the Dem Senators.

"Freedom of speech" in Britain, for one, is just another of those sticks to be bandied about, like "human rights"; which human, what rights and when they're applied.

Mark Steyn wrote: "The slow death of free speech"
"Only four and a half decades after the censor’s departure, British liberals are panting for the reimposition of censorship under a new ‘Royal Charter’. "

Some of the people he is referring to,
" The Leveson Inquiry declaration of support signed by all those London luvvies like Emma Thompson, Tom Stoppard, Maggie Smith, Bob Geldof and Ian McKellen "

Sadly, some Brits simply cannot let go of the hackneyed phrase, "Rule Britania! Britannia Rules The Waves!"

Would these 'British authorities' be the same ones pushing for the licensing of newspapers and what they print in the UK, so as not to upset the MPs and other politicians?
