The greatest athlete in America today is not Tebow. It’s oldest person ever to score three forty point games in a row in the history of the NBA. And he’s doing it – right now!

Is divorce the secret to old age?
Well, except that God/Jesus gives Kobe life and breath and every heartbeat and his athletic ability. Except for all that, he did it without Jesus. Whether he acknowledges it or not. Silly traffic-generator headline.
Roger, do you write your own headlines? Because I want to tell you that, as a non-Christian, it was gratuitously offensive even to me. You may find this person silly and religiously over the top (probably I would too, but I haven’t watched a football game since 1981), but who is he harming? Really, I have hopes that PJMedia will be above this. Will it?
So, I guess you don’t have any Kobe beef.
Bazinga!
I read an interesting article yesterday (can’t find the link) which essentially said that Kobe feeds of his narcissism and the adoration or especially criticism of others. Essentially, when everyone expects him to do poorly, he confounds everyone by doing much better than expected. He had a 4th (in a row) 40+ point game last night; they lost anyway, to the same-city-same-arena Clippers.
God and Jesus are not magic talismans to rub when we need to win a big game. God’s power and sovereignty does not depend on whether Tebow wins. Nor does it depend on Kobe’s performance.
The truth is that without Christ, Kobe will spend eternity in hell without God. Without Christ, Kobe will never fulfill his destiny or have an abundant life. Games and performances will mean little in the grand scheme of things. Whether or not a person serves and honors his Creator is the whole ball game.
This is a very disappointing and disheartening headline from PJ Media.
Can somebody translate Roger’s post into Standard English for me?
Yeah, and Dennis Rodman could haul in those rebounds.
Pretty absurd comment, lack of reflection on your part, Roger Simon, similar to your interlude on the Rick Perry bandwagon.
It’s absurd because Tim Tebow’s sports and religious activities are both voluntary, just as Kobe Bryant’s sports and religious activity — or lack of religious activity — are also voluntary. God gave both of those guys world class muscle, coordination and endurance, but what they do with it is voluntary. They could just as easily be drug lords living in tricked out vans or studying in law school (cf. Alan Page, now a justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court).
But at least we know now that you are all bothered up by Tim Tebow. I think it is kind of amusing.
To those of you whose delicate Christian sensibilities were offended by the headline: LIGHTEN UP! Lacking a sense of humor makes baby Jesus cry.
Is divorce the secret to old age?
Yes. The third and fourth divorces, in particular, seem to age one rapidly.
Is being an unindicted but accused rapist the secret to old age?
That is the athlete we’re talking about, right? The basketball one, not the football one? I’m being sarcastic, but you started it.
