Apparently, President Obama is very good at discerning motives of white policemen who kill black people but just can’t wrap his head around why a member of the New Black Panther Party and avowed white hater would want to shoot 12 police officers.
The president cites a racial motive in killings by police of young black men – despite zero evidence that this is so. But he can’t take the cop killer at his word that he wanted to kill white people?
President Obama said at a Saturday press conference in Poland that it is “very hard to untangle the motives” of the shooter in Dallas who killed five police officers Thursday evening.
“First of all, I think it’s very hard to untangle the motivers of this shooter,” said Obama. “I’ll leave that to psychologists and people who study these kinds of incidents…I think the danger is that we somehow suggest the act of a troubled individuals speaks to some larger political statement across the country.”

The president is being disingenuous, of course. But there’s a method to his madness, Obama wants to keep the focus of the public on the narrative – that white cops are racists and that the entire criminal justice system is unfair to blacks.
Mentioning that the cop killer in Dallas is a black racist – well, that just wouldn’t do. Indeed, there’s been a major shift in coverage by the media who are now largely ignoring the cop killings and lovingly covering demonstrations where some protesters are calling for more murders of policemen.
But it’s a small minority so it’s OK.
It’s an inconvenient fact that Micah Johnson had a pathological hatred of white people and that he deliberately targeted white police officers. It’s so inconvenient that the president is pretending he doesn’t see it. But our Soothsayer in Chief can read the hearts and minds of anyone and glean intent.
Well, at least he can read the minds of white cops. Iranian mullahs? Not so much.
