'The Hill' Deliberately Lies About Cruz Comments Regarding Colorado Shooter

Here’s a screen shot of the headline:

Cruz The Hill

I took the screen shot just in case The Hill came to its senses, despite the fact that its own post debunks the headline:

At a campaign event in Newton, Iowa, the Republican presidential candidate condemned the Friday shooting in Colorado Springs that left three people dead as tragic, but said that there’s still little evidence about the motivations of alleged shooter Robert Dear.

“I think there’s been some vicious rhetoric on the left blaming those who are pro-life,” Cruz said according to audio from The Texas Tribune.

“It’s also been reported that he was registered as an independent and a woman and a transgendered leftist activist. If that’s what he is, I don’t think it’s fair to blame the rhetoric on the left. This is a murderer,” Cruz continued.

Senator Cruz was referencing something said in a news story, not suggesting anything. He is pointing out how absurd the media is to jump to conclusions, which is why they are so bothered by him.

The reason it’s still an effective tactic is that so many people have quick, knee-jerk responses to headlines and never bother to read the articles that follow. It’s a dirty trick, and it is obviously a deliberate attempt to undermine Cruz.
