It has been a LONG time since we have gotten together for one of these videos, hasn't it? The reason for that is a sound one and explained at the top of video.
This video isn't a deep examination of racial issues; I just needed a jumping off point to help me get back in the recording groove. Hot-button issues are no strangers to lighthearted treatment from me. The world is serious enough; my function here is to bring a smidgen of levity to all of the heaviness.
The phrase "white privilege" gets bandied about far too often by people who haven't read a history book not written by Howard Zinn. That's because leftists are more obsessed than ever with race in our allegedly post-racial world. Where would Democrats be, after all, if they couldn't start screaming "RACIST!" every time they were losing an argument to a Republican?
I've been told by liberals throughout my adult life that I've just been coasting along on a wave of white privilege.
I really wish someone would tell my bank account about that.
Anyway, it's so, so nice to be back and yammering into a camera. These one-sided conversations are quite relaxing for me. They're also not that different than my in-person interactions, so it's kind of like you're hanging out with me in real life.
