Wait, Is Comrade Mamdani Already President of the United States?

Venezuelans and lovers of freedom around the world are celebrating the end of Nicolás Maduro’s narco-terrorist, farther-than-far-left regime in Venezuela, but not everyone is thrilled. Zohran Mamdani, Maduro’s comrade who has just become mayor of New York City, is crestfallen, and let the world know that he was not at all pleased with what has happened. After all, if President Donald Trump could do this to one Marxist, what Marxist anywhere is safe?

At the time of the Maduro raid, Mamdani had just been mayor of New York City for two days, and here was the pro-freedom president of the United States showing that he takes a dim view of communist tyrants. What’s an incipient leftist authoritarian to do? He did what authoritarians always do: he sided with his crony, criticized his enemies (fancifully as usual), and laid claim to a position far beyond the one he actually occupies.

Mamdani took to X early Saturday afternoon to register his deep displeasure with what Orange Man Bad has gone and done to one of his highest-profile comrades:

I was briefed this morning on the U.S. military capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, as well as their planned imprisonment in federal custody here in New York City.

Unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation is an act of war and a violation of federal and international law.

This blatant pursuit of regime change doesn’t just affect those abroad, it directly impacts New Yorkers, including tens of thousands of Venezuelans who call this city home. My focus is their safety and the safety of every New Yorker, and my administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.

Mamdani, you’ll recall, is extremely scrupulous about international law. That’s why he has reiterated several times that if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dares to set foot in Brave New New York, he’ll be immediately arrested — because Karim Khan, the Muslim Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), issued a warrant for his arrest under highly suspicious circumstances

Neither Israel nor the United States, however, recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC, and so Mamdani’s professed scrupulousness about following international law falls flat. A nation that does not accept the jurisdiction of a court cannot be considered bound to carry out that court’s dictates. Mamdani is not so much scrupulous for international law as he is anxious to demonize Israel and leave it defenseless in the face of the relentless jihad that is determined to destroy it.

In a similar vein, Mamdani only professes to care about “federal and international law” in connection with the capture of Maduro because Maduro is one of his Marxist comrades. There is no doubt about it whatsoever: if Old Joe Biden’s regime had sent commandos to Argentina to capture pro-freedom President Javier Milei, Mamdani would not have been huffing and puffing about national and international law, which Trump hasn’t really broken in any case.

Doubling down on his hypocrisy, Mamdani claims toppling Maduro “directly impacts New Yorkers,” and that he is focused on “the safety of every New Yorker.” Yet about the fact that the end of Maduro’s regime could have an enormous impact upon the flow of illegal drugs into New York City, the new mayor is silent. If he really cares about the safety of every New Yorker, isn’t he glad that at long, long last, after drugs have flowed largely unimpeded into the country and destroyed the lives of countless Americans, something genuinely decisive has been done to stop this act of war?

For that is what the flow of drugs from hostile states such as Venezuela has been: an act of war, and that is why Mamdani is likewise wrong when he claims that in capturing Maduro, Trump was “unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation.” Maduro has been unilaterally attacking a sovereign nation, the United States of America, for many years, inundating it with drugs that have reduced untold numbers of Americans to human wreckage, wandering the streets like zombies looking for their next fix.

Mamdani, however, has demonstrated yet again that he doesn’t actually care about the well-being of New Yorkers, and certainly not of Americans in general. As a committed Marxist, his loyalty is to his fellow Marxists, and as a Twelver Shi’ite Muslim, he is also loyal to the global Islamic umma, the international community of believers. The United States? That’s a capitalist, non-Muslim powerhouse that must be taken down so that the authoritarian visions of Marx, or Muhammad, or both can be implemented. Mamdani will be doing all he can to bring about that day.

In closing, Mamdani says that his “administration will continue to monitor the situation and issue relevant guidance.” Guidance? This is still a free country, and so he can comment on the political situation as much as he likes, but guidance? Is he the president now? Who put him in charge?

As far as he is concerned, he is the voice of the people, in the fullest Communist sense of the Marxist oligarchy that claims to represent the people, against the evil capitalist Trump. He is already laying claim to being the leader of the opposition and conscience of the nation. And it’s only Day Three of his administration. If he is president of the United States already, imagine what he’ll be after a year.
