Last week, a gunman opened fire in the parking lot of a gay bar in Tucson, Ariz., killing two men before turning the gun on himself. Police called it a hate crime. It had every ingredient the national media usually can't resist. A hate crime. A murder-suicide. Two dead strangers, killed simply for being near a gay bar.
So why has coverage been almost nonexistent?
Because the shooter was Muslim.
Tucson Police say 44-year-old Ousman Ceesay opened fire in the parking lot of Venture-N around 12:30 a.m. last Monday. His victims, 33-year-old Cameron Davis Capara and 42-year-old Vincent Anthony Siqueiros, were total strangers to him. Police said he targeted them without knowing either man personally. After shooting both, Ceesay turned a nine-millimeter handgun on himself, making the whole thing a murder-suicide.
He never went inside the bar. He didn't need to. Police found a note on him listing other LGBTQ-friendly businesses in the area, apparently additional targets he never got to. Detectives recovered a second note at his home. Tucson Police said it "indicated he acted alone and that this shooting was a targeted attack motivated by hate toward the LGBTQIA+ community."

On Sunday, I wrote about how leftist activists are busy scrubbing the truth about 9/11 out of American classrooms. Only a couple of states even require 9/11 education, and wherever it is taught, kids aren’t being told the facts. Instead, curricula built around that day fixate on Islamophobia instead of the actual cause of the attacks: radical Islam. Think about that. Kids are graduating high school with a warped understanding of what happened on September 11, 2001, and why.
According to the North America Values Institute, an education watchdog group, leftist activists, some of them backed by George Soros, have produced 9/11 lesson plans now used in schools nationwide, including in New York City. One of those lesson plans, "Teaching Beyond September 11th," spends exactly one paragraph on the actual attacks. It never once calls the hijackers terrorists. Instead, it builds entire units around "Right-Wing Extremism" and "Islamophobia and the Oval Office."
This is how woke ideology turns dangerous, even disastrous. The truth about radical Islam gets buried because the radical left cares more about looking tolerant than being honest. Call it a cliché, but those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it, and that's precisely what's happening here. Woke leftists cover up crimes committed by Muslims, whether it's an anti-LGBTQ shooting or a terrorist attack, because talking about Islam's hostility toward the LGBTQ community or radical Islam's war on the West breaks the first rule of leftist religion: never sound intolerant.
We all know that if a white Christian man had walked into that Tucson parking lot and murdered two gay men in cold blood, you would have heard about it everywhere. Every network. Every front page. Endless coverage. Instead, this story has barely made a ripple in the national media, and that should alarm you.
Wokeism is covering for crimes committed in the name of Islam, and if it continues, Western civilization is going to pay the price.
