Florida shooting update
Yesterday we learned that the resource officer (the one guy with a gun) at the school where the Florida shooting took place could not be bothered to enter the building where a maniac was slaughtering students he was supposed to protect. I suspect the only reason we learned about this is because there is video.
Israel said that the video shows Peterson arrived at the west side of Building 12, where most of the killing happened. He then took up a position but “never went in.”
The video shows that Peterson remained outside the building for upward of four minutes during the shooting, which lasted about six minutes, Israel said. Aside from getting “on his radio,” Peterson did “nothing” while standing outside the building, Israel said.
So, I’m supposed to disarm myself and trust people like this resource officer, the FBI, the Broward police department to protect me? HA! The FBI is trying to rebuild trust after the Florida shooting failure. Armed police are guarding the resource officer’s home.
Meanwhile, we have a report of CNN scripting questions for a participant in its pro-gun control town hall. And here’s another report from the father of a student at Stoneman Douglas School who says of CNN that “the producer insinuated to me that they were looking for people who were willing to espouse a certain narrative, which was taking the tragedy and turning it into a policy debate.” NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch tells the media they love school shooting ratings.
There are other anti-Second Amendment forces at work too. The First National Bank of Omaha, which issues the NRA branded credit card, has severed its ties with the NRA due to “pressure.” Enterprise Rent-a-Car will not offer NRA members discounts anymore. Let’s see how things work out for these companies in the long run.
