The Left Is Really Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel for Votes Now

Desperation, thy name is the Democrat Party.

If you want to know what scraping the bottom of the barrel for votes looks like, read on.

The Left is now appealing to p*rn users to do their best to ensure that Harris and Walz are enthroned as president and vice president in the next election. The PAC "Artist United for Change" kicked off a $100,000 ad campaign across p*rn sites accessed in battleground states—in this case, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Apparently, the campaign is named "Hands Off My P*rn." The PAC raises funds through Act Blue.

The Daily Caller notes that 17 people from the adult industry are warning users that, should Donald Trump regain the White House, he will, under the auspices of Project 2025, act to ban porn nationwide. The Caller said such a provision can be found in the Project 2025 document, but it is worth noting that Trump has shown no interest in that effort. In conservative circles, the Heritage Foundation's plan is hardly even discussed. But Project 2025 has become the Left's all-purpose boogeyman to frighten an uninformed electorate about the potential dangers of a conservative administration.

In an announcement about the campaign, Holly Randall, who works in the industry, says:

I have been in this industry for over 25 years and have witnessed many attacks on our industry, but Project 2025’s ban on pornography is the most extreme proposal I have ever seen, and voters have to take that threat seriously. We cannot simply rely on precedent that consuming pornography is legal and has been legal for a long time.

Not the Bee reports that the effort's website has a dire warning about the threat of Project 2025 and its criminalization of p*rnogrpahy and goes so far as to invoke the First Amendment. Visitors to the site can even check their voter registration status and register while they are there.

This may indicate how concerned Progressives are about the upcoming election, especially since it is such a close race. Leftists are now championing a person's right to p*rn as a reason to become politically engaged.

But there is something else at work here. By now, it is or should be common knowledge that in addition to creating a market for human trafficking, the p*rn industry debases, destroys, and then discards not only the people who participate in the creation of adult material willingly or unwillingly; it does the same to the people who access it, and it harms their loved ones in the process. And it is telling that the side of the aisle that is so terrified of different ideas being heard has no problem with this. All of a sudden, the First Amendment is sacrosanct.

There will always be the question of what constitutes free speech and what can or cannot be expressed. But take a moment to examine what is being offered. Essentially, people are being asked to speak up for the right to personal indulgence. P*rn is arguably the 21st-century equivalent of Huxley's Soma or Orwell's Victory Gin. It de-personifies people, turning them into nothing more than products or consumers. The net effect is to create people whose senses are dulled, whose lives have been emptied of meaning, and who view others not as fellow human beings but as objects. It makes people malleable and manipulable. The people targeted by this campaign are being invited not to find purpose or meaning in themselves, their relationships, or other people. They are being invited to reject it.
