Eexxxxxcellent.

If you were breathing in 1989, then chances are you loved Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure just as much as the next person. Somehow, we were all charmed by two not-so-bright procrastinating high school students who got their hands on a time-traveling phone booth so that they could gather up some of history’s most important figures to make special appearances in their final project. It’s not exactly a Fellini film, but for some reason, it worked.

Then came Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey in 1991. Not as good as the original, but equally as satisfying.

And just today, Alex Winter, 52, who plays Bill, posted a most excellent tweet:

Yes, he and Keanu Reeves, 53, who plays Ted, will be bringing their air guitars back to the big screen in Bill and Ted Face the Music.

The storyline on IMDB.com tells us that the two are “told they’d save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, but find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfill their destiny.”

Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who wrote the first two Bill and Ted movies, have also penned this sequel. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) will be directing the movie that is set to begin production soon.
