Michael Moore Compares UC Davis Pepper Spray Incident with Tienanmen Square

Yet another wealthy member of the One Percent descends from his stunning lakefront mansion to declare faux-solidarity with the working man:

Moore’s first statement on air was an apology to Wheatley for what had happened to him. “Campus police have turned into armies that have been militarized,” he argued, noting the small size of the protest group– eleven students– and declaring, “the images have resonated around the world in the same way the lone man standing in front of the tanks at Tiananmen Square resonated.” “It is an iconic movement in Occupy Wall Street history,” he continued, “people will remember months and year from now that UC Davis was the moment Occupy Wall Street went to college campuses.”

But hey, perhaps we’re looking at this the wrong way. Moore was speaking on MSNBC, China-friendly GE’s corporate intercom system, to Lawrence O’Donnell, who admitted on the network last year that like Moore, “I am a socialist, I live to the extreme left.” Thomas Friedman, in the OWS’s house organ, is constantly telling his readers how cool and groovy one party China is, and the ultimate head of OWS has said that Beijing is a great place to do business. The OWS gang is all about the idea of growing bigger and more restrictive government; and China’s government is about as big as it gets these days. In Soviet China, machine rages against you — might as well learn to stop worrying and love Big Bother, comrade.

Elsewhere in the world of OWS metaphor failure, Pundit Press spots OWS claiming that protesters are being sent to “Concentration Camps.”

Again, if the goal is big, big, big government on steroids, what’s the problem here?
