SPOILER ALERT!

As I sat in my living room last night watching “The Walking Dead,” I really wasn’t sure what to expect. After last week’s episode, where the “Wolves” attacked Alexandria in all-out bloodshed, I wondered how things could get worse.

In this episode, titled “Thank You,” clearly, the situation turned into sheer devastation. It appears that Glenn was killed off. My reaction was much like that of most other fans: total disbelief, shock, and horror as I screamed out, “No! Not Glenn!” It was the same way I felt when Hershel Greene died. My heart sank, I cried, and it took me a day or two to recover and let it sink in.

Every season we all take wagers on which major character gets axed, but Glenn wasn’t even on my short list. If you are a fan of the comics, then you know that this is not the way Glenn meets his fate. However, this is not the first time that the producers of the show have strayed from the comics, so it shouldn’t come as a complete surprise.

So Glenn is dead — or is he? When Nicholas shot himself, he hung onto Glenn, pulling him off the dumpster and onto the ground with the horde of walkers attacking and tearing apart what appeared to be Glenn’s body. This very well could have been Nicholas’ body.

One interesting fact is that they did not mention Glenn’s name in the memoriam segment on the “Talking Dead” directly after the show. Does this mean there is hope that Glenn somehow rolled under the dumpster and is still alive? My feeling is that Glenn will not survive, but will be able to get word to Rick over the radio so the group will know. It’s terribly sad (I feel you) — but as we all know, nobody is safe.
