Adventures in The Patriarchy™: The Anti-Manosphere Censorship Jihad Down Under Pt. II

Chronicling the ongoing intersectional struggle to liberate women — progressively defined to include the legacy kind and the transgenders — from The Patriarchy™, one microaggression at a time.

Chanel Contos, CEO of Teach Us Consent, an NGO social carcinogen that quixotically fights “rape culture” in Australia (never mentioning migrants, of course) and that we discussed in the previous edition of The Anti-Manosphere Censorship Jihad Down Under, spoke last Wednesday at the National Press Club.

Australian state media Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) got the “scoop” before the speech.

Via SBS News (emphasis added):

Big tech companies are radicalising young men into harmful sexual acts, the founder of education and advocacy organisation Teach Us Consent is expected to tell the National Press Club on Wednesday.

Chanel Contos will say the content is pushed by bad actors who share commercial infrastructure and have identified male psychology as a market — together, they make up the "manosphere".

"Young men online seeking community, belonging, and self-improvement advice are targeted with content that blames women for their misfortune and reinstates harmful and outdated gender roles," she is expected to say.

Contos will say that boys aged between 16 and 18 are likely to be fed misogynistic content less than 25 minutes after signing up to social media.

That was true even if preferences were set to try and exclude it, according to research from Teach Us Consent.

Teens are regularly fed content suggesting women should not leave the house alone, should not work and should not be in charge of their own money.

Most harmful content starts in the wellness landscape through gym videos or motivational content.

They then promote good looks and dominance over women as markers of male worth.

Contos will tell the Press Club men who subscribe to those ideals are twice as likely to binge drink and eight times as likely to have suicidal thoughts as their peers.

They are also 17 times more likely to have hit their partner.

Corporate state media will often do this little trick where they pretend to have landed a “scoop,” which implies some kind of journalistic legwork on the part of the “journalist” in the employ of the outlet.

In reality, what really happens is the subject of whatever news item (in this case, the Chanel censorship lady) who shares the corporate state media’s agenda hands them a preview of her talking points in exchange for a sympathetic, uncritical write-up to gin up public interest before she takes the stage.

In other words, this in no way qualifies as not “journalism”; it’s stenography for the power structure.

Anyway, the Chanel censorship lady, branding herself a "consent advocate," hit all of the talking points her press agent told SBS News she would, maligning the “manosphere” as a “multi-billion-dollar grievance industry” with no apparent sense of hypocrisy, given that she works for an NGO that traffics in feminist grievance fighting imaginary “rape culture” dragon:
