The World Wide Web turns 20 today, and here is the very first website restored to its original glory.

If it’s loading a little slowly, remember that your modem is probably 2400 baud at best.

I guess the Web was behind the times. Back then I was running a 19.2 modem with a FidoNet BBS. Or did I have the USR 56Kpbs modem by then?

'Twas a long time ago.

P.S. Don't have an Apple Cube, but I have a PC, XT, AT, and an original Compaq Deskpro. Which all still work. :)

I just wish I could find a copy of NCSA Mosaic so I could view it in its ancient glory.

Interesting that it's about 7 months after Linux turned 20.

The Web was created on a NeXTcube.

OK, so it was BSD (and MACH), not Linux. And not Win 3.1...

Still have a NeXT cube. Still works. Still looks better than any other computer I own.

I think that somewhere, The Steve would get a kick out of that.
