Is This Fiorina Ad the Best of the Campaign Cycle Thus Far?

This ad was released today by the CARLY for America super PAC, not by the Fiorina campaign. But many longtime campaign pundits are calling it the best ad of the 2016 cycle thus far.

The ad bounces off comments made by Donald Trump to Rolling Stone magazine about the only woman in the GOP field of presidential hopefuls: “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?! I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

Trump told CNN that he was talking about Fiorina’s “persona” and not her looks.

The ad, though, just uses images of women’s faces interspersed with Fiorina’s rebuttal at the National Federation of Republican Women’s annual conference on Friday.

“Ladies, look at this face,” Fiorina told the audience. “This is the face of a 61-year-old woman. I am proud of every year and every wrinkle.”

“Look at all of your faces,” she further said. “The face of leadership. The face of leadership in our party, the party of women’s suffrage. The face of leadership in your communities, in your businesses, in your places of work and worship. Ladies, note to Democrat Party: We are not a special interest group, we are the majority of the nation.”

Carly’s ads have a history of leaving a mark on campaign history — remember the Demon Sheep (2010 California Senate primary)?
