In what looks like the final nail in the coffin for climate-change denial, some of the world’s most credible professional organizations have just announced they will no longer work with “climate deniers.”

That’s right, ten of the globe’s top public relations firms have declared that they will no longer “frame the debate” from the “sky is NOT falling” perspective.

Along with “the science,” the PR is now settled.

A spokesman for WPP, the world’s largest ad agency and parent of Burson Marsteller and Ogilvy Public Relations, said…

We ensure that our own work complies with local laws, marketing codes and our own code of business conduct. These prevent advertising that is intended to mislead and the denial of climate change would fall into this category.

The announcement fell like a ton of unread news releases on people who had placed their hope for defeating the man-made climate-change narrative upon firms so trustworthy that they’re commonly called “flacks.” These are the companies who have popularized idioms like “is that true, or is it just PR?” These are people whose credibility is exceeded perhaps only by used-car salesmen.

Since climate deniers can’t find a good PR firm these days, they were unlikely to respond to a reporter’s questions, so I didn’t contact them for a reaction to this devastating news.

The British Guardian demonstrated its objectively-journalistic professionalism by teaming up with the DC-based “Climate Investigations Center” (CIC), making follow-up calls to PR firms to pop the question about whether they would refuse work from climate deniers. The Guardian even released an “internal email” from the largest independently-owned PR firm, Edelman…

An initial response to CIC from Edelman inadvertently included an internal email which said: “I don’t believe we are obligated in any way to respond. There are only wrong answers for this guy.”

Kent Davies, Climate Investigations Center

This is the major research firm with which The Guardian teamed up to ask big PR firms if they’d stop working for “climate deniers.”

Edelman eventually did respond, but refused to join the virtuous chorus of information integrity, saying it makes decisions about which clients to serve on a case-by-case basis.

Capitalists!

As the Guardian points out, Edelman works for the American Petroleum Institute, and helped to develop the Keystone XL pipeline campaign for the project that would have created thousands of jobs, cut the risk of ocean oil spills and exploding rail cars, as well as reduced our dependence on foreign oil.

Whores.

Of course, CIC needs no introduction. Formed all the way back in 2014, it’s staffed by at least one man, Executive Director Kent Davies, a former research director at Greenpeace, who has apparently hung his own shingle now, doubtless eager to escape the cubicle Hell of anti-corporate America.

We'll never get to 9 Billion. The vast majority of recent births are among Muslims, and once there are enough of them that they feel confident cranking up the Genocide Machine, you won't have to worry about getting to 9 Billion ever again.

This movement was started a few years ago by David Suzuki's personal foundation's PR firm - Hoggan Associates that run Demog Blog. No investigation yet on whether donations to the Foundation are used to pay the PR firm.

Could it be that special interest groups are pushing their agenda of global warming so they can be funded? You know have a pay check? Global warming is not caused by man but the sun. The sun has cycles and it affects our climate and right now it's climate extreme. The hots and hotter and the colds are colder, etc. More studies are confirming this all the time. For more information visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c4XPVPJwBY Man will pay the price for greed, and pollution. Pollution will kill man before global warming.

maybe all the hot air coming from these crackpots will eventually cause some warming, who knows? almost every one of their past predictions about the climate has been wrong. the last (approx.) 17 years have not shown any warming, man made or otherwise. we are in the middle of one of the coolest summers on record so far. the waters are not rising and the ice is not melting as predicted. as a matter of fact, the vessel carrying the 'climate scientists' got caught in new ice land they all finally had to be rescued. it was very embarrassing, I'm sure.

in a couple of years I predict these p.r. morons will be in the same boat (figuratively) w/ those geniuses whose ship got stuck in all the melting ice. maybe G_d really does have a keen sense of humor. can't wait to see the icebergs He has planned for these obamabot sheeple.

I hope the rest of this administration's impending future foolish failures are as humorous as that iceberg study fiasco. what a hoot.

Sounds like the PR firms are posturing as taking the high road. They are in factfollowing the money. There is less money to be made in selling the status quo "we're all going to be fine" messaging.

Agitators and those who want "progress" and "change" and calls to "take action" etc need PR firms to get attention for the cause. It's fun and creative and creates all sorts of derivative other profitable opportunities. Think about all the "greenness" that is shoved in our faces everywhere we turn. Greenness and embracing AGW is the biggest swindle this side of race hustling.

"...is that true, or is it just PR?” These are people whose credibility is exceeded perhaps only by used-car salesmen."

PR agencies respond to cold hard cash and little else, much like "experts" hired by law firms at jury trials who will come down on any side at all for the right amount of money.

Given the theory that the Earth has been around for at least 4.3+ billion years (a theory I believe in), it would seem that the climate has been changing for that entire 4.3+ billion years. I don't happen to believe that mankind is the reason for the climate change. It happens. Since the global warming cult saw fit to "cook the books" on their data, why should I waste any effort to believe their tripe. The big PR firms want to be discriminatory, let 'em. I won't have to answer for their narrow minded "the sky is falling because of evil mankind" mantra when it is proven false.

When truth needs a PR firm, I don't think you know what "Truth" is.

Read Michael Crichtons state of fear. Lots of hard science debunking agw with a fast paced plot on how desperate climate hucksters can be to keep the wool over your eyes and demonize anyone who dissents
