A little follow-up on last night’s curious report of tanks crossing into Ukraine.

WASHINGTON — The State Department confirmed on Friday that Russia has sent tanks and other heavy weapons to separatists in Ukraine.

A convoy of three T-64 tanks, several BM-21 “Grad” multiple rocket launchers and other military vehicles crossed the border near the Ukrainian town of Snizhne, State Department officials said. Reports and images of the weapons’ presence circulated on Thursday, but there were conflicting claims about where they had come from.

“This is unacceptable,” said Marie Harf, the deputy State Department spokeswoman. “A failure by Russia to de-escalate this situation will lead to additional costs.”

Such as…vicious hashtags? Harsh Facebook posts? What’s the plan, Marie? I’ve been a critic of hers, and while she might be a cute half-wit it’s fair to say that she has more balls on her than any of her bosses do. Maybe she has a plan.

Her boss doesn’t. He’s off on a four-day golf weekend while Russia rolls forward, the US abandons Iraq, and our own border is being overrun by illegal aliens.

Update: Hillary sprained her arm patting herself on the back for “resetting” relations with Russia, today. I’m not even kidding.

"the US abandons Iraq"

The US did not abandon Iraq. They signed the Bush/Maliki Status of Forces agreement with Bush setting the departure of US troops for 2011 and then demanded that in order to deep-six that agreement and come up with a new one having US troops stay longer that they get to try our troops in Islamic courts. To say that we abandoned them is to tell big lies like Obama does and then think by repeating them they become the truth.

Giving T64's might not be the gift of all times. Old, cantankerous, since their initial fielding most have spent more time in the shop than in the field.
