I tend to agree.

But it may be somewhat premature and even inaccurate to declare that Clinton is intentionally distancing herself from the Obama administration.

First, there was significant distance between Clinton and Obama from the very start, even before she joined his administration. As a senator, Clinton voted to authorize President George W. Bush’s 2003 Iraq invasion. That was the vote that allowed Obama to contrast himself as the anti-war alternative to Clinton, a key to his winning the nomination.

And lest we forget, Clinton repeatedly ridiculed Obama in 2007 and 2008 for what she alleged was his foreign policy naivete, such as during a debate when Obama stated his openness to holding direct talks with the leaders of Iran and North Korea.

Second, if Clinton was indeed taking a harder line on negotiations with the Taliban to free Bergdahl as far back as 2012 as The Daily Beast reports, it would be evidence of real differences between her and other administration officials back then.

Let us not forget that Her Madameship’s entire career is built upon uncomfortably arrangements with two men who embarrassed her. She is closer ideologically to her husband than to her former boss.

Should she decide to run, it will be very interesting to see how much effort she puts into making it very clear that they differed on a lot. That will have the press heading to group therapy as they will be torn between protecting their Messiah’s legacy and dutifully sticking to the completion of Bubba’s legacy.

Watch out for exploding heads.

You screwed this up big time.

They are the same damned Alinskyite legacy. One has two lumps of sugar, the other three. The end result for us is the exact same.

No exploding heads. The leftist advocates pretending to be journalists at National Pseudointellectual Radio and elsewhere will be perfectly fine with either.

Well she was close enough that she stood with Obama in front of the Benghazi dead in their coffins ,and repeated and verified his lies to the parents of the murdered and the entire country.

She took the Secretary of State job as a loyal Democrat, and to build up her resume....but I doubt she forgets or forgives Obama for taking the nomination 6 years ago from her, or the things he said against her in campaigning. As Obama's numbers sink, she'll distance herself even farther -- as far as she can without sinking the entire Democratic brand.

I don't think she took SoS as the gesture of a loyal Democrat. People like the Clintons don't voluntarily and meekly sheathe their swords the way the Clintons did in 2008; somebody called in a big chit on them. That chit probably involved something about the Middle Eastern money that has both served the Clintons well - and they their sources - and which now holds BHO pretty much as chattel.

My surmise is that either Soros et al. went to Qatar and the MB seeking investors in the Ayers/Gil Foundation front man or perhaps even that they signaled to the Ayers/Gill Foundation/Soros cabal that they'd be willing to back a new "strong horse" for US President in exchange for certain considerations and the Soros Cabal accepted.

Someone then whispered in the Clintons' ears that they had a sweet ride going and it would be a shame if something happened that landed one of both of them in the federal penitentiary. Of course, you can't do things like this dramatically so promises were made that allowed the Clintons to save face and probably be designated as the successor to Obama if she and Bill played nice and understood that they, too, were now chattel. She didn't become SoS out of loyalty but out of fear because she was under the thumb of the people who now owned her. Bill and Hill are the sort of people that you'd best have inside the tent peeing out rather than outside the tent peeing in. She won't distance herself so far as to actually criticize the Obama Administration and her owners for acts the Obama Administration did to eliminate US influence in the Middle East. We didn't have an election in 2008; we had a coup d'état and so far it has worked out pretty well for them. It was going great until the lion did indeed lie down with the lamb and Saudi Arabia allied with Israel to stop further MB, Qatari, and Iranian incursions in Egypt and Syria. We - and Israel - are headed for a rough patch the moment Iran has a nuclear weapon. They don't need a missile; a stolen airliner or even a rust bucket tanker will do just fine to destroy Israel. For that matter a couple of stolen airliners and a couple of rust bucket tankers could deliver and EMP attack on the US that would return us to the middle of the 19th Century in days. I know I'm paranoid; I just hope I'm paranoid enough.

It's not that complicated, Art. Observer nailed it:

" and to build up her resume"

That's all it took. Obama called her in and made her an offer.

"Look, I beat you. But it's not going to help either of us to continue the war. Here's the deal: I make you SecDef, you play nice. In 8 years, I suppoprt you for the nomination. Nobody will have better foreign policy credentials than you. You'll have a lock on the nomination, and a lock on the election. OR, you can spend the next 4 years sniping at me, trying to unseat a sitting President for the nomination. Good luck with that. In return, I destroy you. What's your choice?"

He had her. She had no choice. It was take the deal or die, politically.

No, there was no loyalty, and no blackmail, either.

Just self-interest.

Of course, now there's Kerry. The One just might pull a double-cross.

The amusing part here is, Biden is spinning daydreams of Oval Officedom, and it ain't gonna happen.

But why go with Obama, Art? Why didn't they settle for Hillary back in 2008? He's easier putty in their hands, perhaps, than she would have been?

Obama is communist royalty of a sort; a full blooded Red Diaper Baby. His Dunham grandparents were either close fellow travelers or card carriers, the latter I suspect in the case of the grandfather. They were certainly CPUSA assets and only that would adequately explain their pilgrimage from Kansas to first Seattle then Honolulu, both cities heavily influenced if not controlled by Harry Bridges' Longshoremen. Old Harry was last seen on the balcony at the Kremlin. The Kenyan is just a legend; a convenient cover for Barry's real father, Frank Marshall Davis; couldn't have the little princeling be the son of an open card carrier. His mother was most probably recruited into a KGB compromised CIA operation which explains her ties to Indonesia, then in the throes of a communist-led insurrection. She was either herself a KGB asset or an asset of a double agent in the CIA.

Somehow the Ayers/Obama communists allied with the Gill Foundation and its leftist groups and foundations that supported a radical homosexual agenda. Obama may himself have had such ties as well. I don't know how serious they were with the 2008 run until it began working; the Clintons have a lot of baggage even in their own Party. But, they didn't have the money and power to push the Clintons out. Enter Soros. The Clintons can be influenced but not reliably controlled because they have their own power base and money sources. The hard left distrusts the Clintons for their "pragmatism," which is another way of saying they won't stay bought but rather are always guided by what is best for them. If Soros could adequately bankroll the Obama/Ayers/Gill operation, he had an asset, not just an alliance. I think Soros cunningly went to people with whom the Clintons already had ties in the Middle East, and who thus had power to influence or damage them, and offered them a share of a new strong horse., a horse which has so far been ridden very successfully.

Just my two cents, but I think the powers-that-be behind Obama figured they could "fundamentally transform" America a lot more quickly with their empty suit black guy than they could with Hillary. Hillary (and Bill) would have too many of their own ideas and would be more likely to fight some of the Soros Group, whereas Barry would do their bidding. Plus the media would be a lot more willing to cover for Barry by using the race card at every criticism. This is certainly the way it played out. So Shrillary gets to be SOS, traveling all over the world at taxpayer expense while doing basically nothing, and the media get to pretend that this makes her even MORE qualified to run for Pres in 2016.

No surprise. Rattlesnakes don't like sewer rats. Doesn't mean we want either as president.

That's about what I think. The Clintons, especially Mrs. Clinton, may dislike Obama personally. They probably scorn him. But their agendas and their likely policies mirror his almost completely because they helped develop those agendas and those policies. Obama is simply the face, the marionette that acts out the programs of Clinton, Pelosi, Reid, and the other "progressives."
