Some on the pro-abortion side planned to smuggle tampons and condoms into the capitol and throw them at Republicans at the capitol in Austin, Texas today. The police caught wind of that and started confiscating the tampon-props. So, according to Eliza Vielma of Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst’s office, some protesters tried smuggling bricks into the capitol. And one was caught with a “bottle of feces.”

Update: A CNN producer confirms that DPS have had to confiscate several repulsive items that may constitute biohazards.

Update:

More lovely behavior from the pro-abortion side. As pro-lifers sing “God Bless America,” the other side yells at them.

More detail on the protesters and their precious bodily fluids, by way of Ed Driscoll.

DPS recommended to the State Preservation Board that all bags be inspected prior to allowing individuals to enter the Senate gallery, which the State Preservation Board authorized.

During these inspections, DPS officers have thus far discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items — as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals — were required to be discarded; otherwise those individuals were denied entry into the gallery.

More: The Texas Tribune also confirms that DPS confiscated the urine and feces while inspecting the bags of protesters going into the capitol. I’ve added so many confirmations because the reaction of leftists to these reports has been, essentially, “Did not!” DPS’ response is “Did so!”

Original Post:

Hijacking “Amazing Grace” and chanting “Hail Satan!” shockingly haven’t convinced pro-life Republicans not to pass sensible regulations to upgrade safety standards at abortion clinics across Texas. Going “bro-choice” only elicited mockery, not any changes of mind.

Maybe this brilliant, game-changing sign will do the trick.

WOW1

Sister Toldjah plucked this image off of Twitter and headlined it as evidence of the “abject failure of modern feminism.” It’s all that and a whole lot more.

That girl is obviously a minor. School is out in Texas in July so there’s no truancy in play, but there is modesty in play. There’s also intelligence, or the lack thereof, and kindness, or the lack thereof, and a sense of what is worth treating seriously and what is not.

Schools once taught rhetoric, which is really logic and how to build sound arguments to advance one’s positions. Rhetoric also involves how to spot and destroy faulty arguments.

That sign doesn’t rise to the level of argument at all. It’s not an idea. It articulates no position. It’s not anything more than an attempt to be cute and offensive, while trivializing what surely is a wrenching decision in any woman’s life. It’s terrible, sad, depressing, and wrong. As imagination and as rhetoric, it’s just a boot to the face.

That sign marks the slow failure of a civilization, one undereducated child at a time.

Note: I flipped the order of this post because, after writing it, it became obvious that the lead was not the sign, as bad as it is. The lead is what some protesters attempted to do this afternoon.
