More Americans may soon avoid the specter and expense of ObamaCare if House and Senate leaders can make a deal to exempt…themselves and their own staffers.

Apparently, there’s fear on the hill of a massive “brain drain,” not from the normal periodic Congressional zombie attack, but from the financial burden imposed on low wage Congressional staffers by the president’s signature (and perhaps singular) policy achievement. In addition, we’ve already learned of the imminent loss of Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), one of the engineers of ObamaCare who, last week, called its implementation a “huge train wreck.”

A Capitol Hill ObamaCare exemption is, of course, good news which you should greet with the same rejoicing you would experience on the deck of the Titanic as you watched the final lifeboat lowered. Aren’t you just glad that somebody escaped?

Although you and I may still face the dangers of the new law, perhaps we can vicariously enjoy being snatched from peril knowing that our Congressional representatives and employees are safe from its clutches.

Some ingenious Congressman needs to make all of his constituents unpaid interns. So district by district, we can vote in a Congressman in 2014 who will make us all exempt from Obamacare.

So, are they avoiding the tax or the penalty?

Laws are for the little people. Stop signs are for tourists. Guns are for drug cartels. Civil rights are for non-whites. Immigration rules are for non-Hispanics.

"News" is for agenda and narrative fulfillment. Terrorism is defined not by the act or the intent, but by the location to the right of center on the political spectrum.

And treason...oh, sweet treason...is the mother's milk of the American left.

The beginning of legitimate government in England came when the lesser nobles insisted the king be every bit as bound by the law as they were.

The end of legitimate government in America came when citizens didn't insist Congress be every bit as bound by the law as we are.

A brain drain, huh? Why would they run? Because they can! What about all the rest of us who can't run? We're prisoners - unable to escape due an iron hospital bed curtain that has descended across our continent. It is unlawful for us to try to run. We don't get to decide which laws apply to us and which do not. We need perestroika of Obamacare!

Brain drain? That's funny stuff right there. Why, they'll just move out into the private sector for better money and benefits. Hahahahahaha! They're massively overpaid as it is, not one in a hundred could hold a job in the private sector (what's left of it) at anywhere near what they get now.

Trying to avoid a brain drain? Talk about closing the barn door after the horses left.

Why not? Congress exempts itself from virtually all of the laws it passes. Workplace laws? Ha! Racial quota laws? Nope, not for Congress. Equal pay laws? Are you serious? So why would Congress give up its platinum plated, taxpayer provided health care for life to take cruddy Obamacare, meant to reduce American quality of life and life expectancy in the name of grabbing power?

Between this news and Janet Napolitano saying that the Obama administration gets to decide which laws it wants to enforce, I'm starting to doubt we live in an actual self-governing republic.
