Many people are starting their day in dazed state of incredulous disbelief. How could we lose an election to a president who has given us a nightmare of an economy, dangerous foreign policy and so much more? Where were all those Chick-Fil-A people? Why weren’t they at the polls?
Romney and Ryan ran a solid campaign and worked hard, but Romney was never considered to be a real conservative. Conservatives were willing to stand up and back him as the only alternative to four more years of Obama. Most of us focused our time on politicians and campaigns, but our focus was misdirected. Chick-Fil-A Day should have shown us that it is not always the economy, stupid. It is the corrupt culture. People poured their hearts and souls into Chick-Fil-A Day because they were fighting for their very way of life and their religious freedom.
We are repeatedly told that we should stay away from those pesky social issues. Well, it appears that those are exactly what we should be focusing on. We have allowed political correctness and Leftist bullies to take us here for decades. Now is the time to change focus from politicians to real culture change. They own the media, Hollywood, universities, public schools and much more. The battleground is there now, not in Washington.
You want to really see change in Washington? Then start changing the culture and the politicians will follow. After all, that’s what they do.

” People poured their hearts and souls into Chick-Fil-A Day ”
yeah, but didn’t Chick-Fil-A corporate turn around a couple weeks later and surrender … “… will no longer fund anti-gay groups …” according to the MSM bit I happened to see …
excuse me if I’m mis-informed … but I just don’t find much solace today in fading memories of Chick-Fil-A day…
No, the MSM twisted their words on that and it wasn’t accurate.
“Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated.” check.
“In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” not yet
“The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me” looks like it
“and she shall be converted” not yet
“and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” not yet
Modern Liberalism looks a lot like other religious cults throughout history which featured child sacrifice and fertility rites (except that they have anti-fertility as a feature). They now have political power, but it’s time for Christians to realize that we aren’t dependent on political power but on God alone.
Yes, I agree. We tried politics, and the people have spoken. We are not part of this new America. The only thing to do is adopt the 6th Century solution: band in communities to try to preserve what we can.
And pray.
I agree.
Out of the list of targets you mentioned, “media, Hollywood, universities, public schools and much more,” our first target should probably be the media. If the media hadn’t been covering for Obama, especially with Benghazi in the final months, I think it would have been possible to unseat Obama.
The media is the weakest link in that chain. Universities and public schools are largely influenced by federal government and we don’t currently have the power to alter the fed’s bureaucratic grip on education. That leaves Hollywood and the media. While I think that Hollywood is capable of being challenged; I think that the progressive, leftist culture is so ingrained that it will be harder. We should focus more energy on the broadcast news media.
However, I’m not sure how to go about it.
The majority of people in this country are not the kind to be active consumers of news, in other words the kind that will seek out news online. Instead, the majority are quite willing to come home after work and sit down to watch cable and local news. The broadcast media has a stranglehold on the news coverage in America; we need to break that hold.
One way is to move quickly into the streaming video/ROKU market. The Left sees this and they are already starting to monopolize it, but if we started now, we could make inroads quickly and fairly inexpensively. The churches see it and have many, many stations streaming. With streaming video, you don’t have to beg to be picked up by a network or satellite company.
That will definately be good in the long term and is something that conservatives should strive to get a share of. However, it is still something that requires active choice.
The example I have are my parents, early baby boomers, they are conservative and they both likely voted against Obama. However, the only time they ever heard of Fast and Furious or Benghazi (at least the details of it) was when I told them of what I learned online. They get their news from NBC. NBC! The reason is because they favor the local broadcast news team, but then end up watching the national NBC news afterwards.
This is why we need to target the passive news consumers. How many of them voted yesterday? How many of the conservatively inclined decided to stay home because they were told that Obama was up in the polls, therefore it was pointless to vote against him? From what I’ve seen, turnout was lower this election than the last presidential election. That implies that the media was successful in supressing anti-Obama enthusiasm with passive news consumers.
Many get their news from the old sources (like your parents) and many from Jon Stewart:( We need to offer a few alternatives in different styles…not to “dumb down” the news, but to present it in different ways. Then we need to get those new sources into the hands of everyone.
Wow did you learn the wrong lesson. The lesson is – be unapologetic on freedom and silent on social issues.
How about next time we nominate a candidate who can actually articulate a belief in freedom (no just a little less government than the Democrats)? Somebody with the guts to call out our opponents failings and scandals.
And can we keep the god-squad crew at home next time? They managed to turn 2 easy Senate wins into losses with completely unnecessary rape and abortion talk.
I would totally disagree on your “God Squad” examples. Your two examples misspoke in a way that no one agreed with and were not representative of anyone else with those statements. Those are poor examples of addressing social issues.
I think most would agree with you, however, in choosing a truly conservative candidate who will speak out on issues like Benghazi and other outrageous failings. They tried to spin it as a clever plan by Romney to avoid looking mean. Well, that didn’t work out so well, did it?
McCain and Romney were both weak candidates whose people blame others for their failure to win. The McCain people blamed Palin and Romney backers are already blaming the Tea Party. Personally, I think they both would have done much worse without Palin and the Tea Party.
Yeah, people are waking up to the Media. The left owns it.
Cut your cable and satellite. You won’t miss it, Starve the beast. Why do you support those who denigrate you?
Tell them when they offer ala carte channel selection you will reconsider!!!
One more thing… it works! In my local community, the paper is faltering due to readership. It’s a left rag (in a red county that is a blue state )that is quickly changing their tune, they actually, apologetically, endorsed Romney.
I agree. If we lead towards a different culture, they will follow, like your paper did. It’s a big job nationally, but everyone can start working on local media, school boards, etc.
