What did you expect, that he would cram doing his job in between a photo op and a Vegas fundraiser? The man has a campaign to run, he doesn’t have time to figure out what’s what and who’s who over there on the Arab street. Cut the man some slack.
According to the public schedule of the president, the last time the Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting was Sept. 5 — a week before Islamist radicals stormed our embassy in Cairo and terrorists killed our ambassador to Tripoli. The president was scheduled to hold the intelligence meeting at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the attacks, but it was canceled so that he could comfort grieving employees at the State Department — as well he should. But instead of rescheduling the intelligence briefing for later in the day, Obama apparently chose to skip it altogether and attend a Las Vegas fundraiser for his re-election campaign. One day after a terrorist attack.
We now know that the attack in Egypt was a planned gambit to get the mastermind of the 1993 WTC attack released. That’s a certainty, as Ray Ibrahim posted here at the Tatler on Monday. We also know that the consulate in Libya was unprotected. No Marine guard, because it was deemed an “interim” facility even though Benghazi is a hotbed of al Qaeda activity.
Had Obama been on task on the job he’s working so hard to keep, but not actually perform, he might have put things together and beefed up security at embassies and consulates throughout the region.
But he didn’t. Vegas just couldn’t wait.

We really should just drop that “daily” bit altogether, shouldn’t we.
How about the Intermittent Presidential Intelligence Briefing? Or I-PIB for short?
He’s doing that he is good at (campaigning) and avoiding that at which he is a failure (everything else).
The Smartest Man in Every Room don’t need no stinkin’ intelligence briefings.
The “daily” briefing will be prepared whether the President decides to make use of it, or not. That’s the level of professionalism of the US government.
As for any notion that BO actually READS anything, we can forget that, too. He and Eric Holder are two of a kind in that respect.
That’s okay. A goodly number of American voters can’t wait for November.
Dereliction of duty ?
(Or is that another racial slur ?)
Either that or gross negligence. Either way, an impeachable offense deserving of 0 being removed from office. For whatever reason he is not capable of discharging the duties of the office. Or simply unwilling to assume the responsibilities of the office.
– were brought to him the way servile 60 Minutes crew came for an interview attacking Romney.
The muslims have given Romney the opening he needs to attack Obama’s foreign policy stupidity. Come on Romney, go for the throat. Otherwise this country is doomed and our women will be wearing the burqas in the streets.
The “I’m the Foreign Policy President” is well and truly dead, strangled in the crib.
As I recall, President Bush regularly had the briefing done very early each morning, like 7:30 AM, maybe 8:00 AM. Then he was able to move on with the rest of his work day.
But that was post-9/11 when we were in a war and intelligence regarding our enemy was considered vital. That’s all a distant memory now. Though, we may have forgotten about our enemy, the enemy apparently hasn’t forgotten about us.
(By the way, how early does Obama rise and start to work each day?)
Why should he bother with such a briefing? He already knows more than any of the briefers, doesn’t he?
