Over the weekend, the Obama campaign slammed Mitt Romney with an ad featuring the GOP’s presumptive nominee singing “America the Beautiful” while the ad flashed statistics about Romney’s wealth.
Today, the Romney campaign is responding with a singing ad of its own. Titled “Political Payoffs and Middle Class Layoffs,” the ad features President Obama singing Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” while the video track flashes facts about the Obama economy and charges that the president has engaged in paying off his political supporters at taxpayer expense. Watch the new Romney ad below.
Hopefully after the dueling ads, both candidates will decided that singing on the campaign trail is no longer a wise thing to do.

I haven’t seen the president’s ad, but this one is pretty good (who sings better? the president, I’m guessing). As we keep saying, the issue at hand isn’t Romney’s money but the way in which Obama is spending our money (including all that money we didn’t actually have in the first place). It can’t hurt to keep pounding that point.
It helps that Obama sounds like a countertenor on that one.
Payoffs vs. Layoffs – very good.
Too bad the Add was taken down by the ‘Shut up America’ group. I would have loved to seen it. Of course, it is juvinile and will not hurt Romney at all.
