I have to admit that I really don’t quite get the Democrats on this Voter ID issue. They are either cheating and don’t want to stop; or they just want to tarnish “whitey”, including on the international stage, because they enjoy having the power to do so; or they for some reason are trying to hold onto the black vote and got nothing else. My guess is it is a combination set, and my gut tells me that if there is a God, Eric Holder has a problem.
I think they need to understand they are ever so gently spiraling around to where we get to the “I will not gracefully submit to your leftist guys winning elections, because you don’t gracefully submit to much to start with and I’m a fool to let you rule but not obey when ruled” point, so the more moderate supporters need to start doing some hard thinkng on how much rope they allow these claims and clowns.
For as has been said before, if you act like all is fair in love and war, don’t be suprised when you don’t get love but you do get war. Not everybody in this land is a GOP hack, and we do have rights to certain basic expectations even if inconvenient to the electoral desires of Barack Obama and Eric Holder. And that’s just all there is to it.
As a codicil–in reading J. Christian Adams piece, I see no reason to doubt he is correct in his belief the Texas Voter ID law will be suppressed. This means no reasonable law can be enacted if minorities seem unlikely to obey it, for it will have a “disproportionate impact” on them.
The effort of the Union footsoldier has failed, the fight against the Axis was in vain, the idea of Jackson through. In America, it turns out there will be master races after all, master races who simply will not have to do anything they do not choose to do. They will not have to obey mmigration laws, they will not have to get IDs, they will not have to score as well on tests to get jobs. They will simply inherit, as long-ago nobility did.
It is time for the citizens for the Republic to start seriously asking if the present system is one conducive to their and their progeny’s liberties, or one that wishes to make them pariahs, never able to do anything without being accused of the darkest motives–without proof.
The equal protection clause means exactly that–equal, not extra protection. It cannot be used to make other clauses nullities, because of fears of *future* *potential* *possibilities* for violations. It is equivalent to jailing grandsons and great-grandsons for larcenies of the fathers three generations ago–just in case the gene is there.
The equal protection clause cannot render these other clauses without effect–no bills of attainder; the requirement of the Federal government to guarantee the states a *republican* form of government; that the people retain rights independent of the national
Government; and that the states do the same.
And yet I have no doubts that the courts will allow it to do all those things, and more. It is pointless to be of good faith in America anymore, because the game is now “get revenge for the past, whitey it’s your turn”, even though we are at the point where fewer and fewer were alive at the times of the original wrongs, and very precious few in any poition of responsibility.
God satisfied himself with five generations. You think the Federal government would suffice with two.
To emphasize the generational point–in 1964:
The Boomers were in high school or not yet born
Gen X not yet born
Gen Y–not yet born, parents probably not born
Today’s kids–not born, parents not born, grandparents probably not born.
Enough.
Well, that was bizarre. You started a thread, then replied to yourself no less than 3 additional times. Each set of remarks was less coherent than the one before. To top it off, I’m not sure you were even replying to the correct article; I think you meant to reply to the newest Christian J. Adams article.
Then, Snarky, you will enjoy this next one even less (and I meant to reply here).
When considering the validity of the relevent sections of the VRA, one also needs to consider the influx of non-Southerners into selected covered states since the 60s. With this act, one is condemning the heirs of the man who died storming Missionary Ridge as well as the man defending it.
Call this stream of consciousness. Joyce seemed to do okay with it. Have a nice day.
Incindentally, Snarky, if snide illusions of mental illness or incompetency are your game, hop over to the Jackson post, for there you will find richer ground. Thanks for playing.
Dems will continue to oppose voter ID laws until there is widespread voter fraud that gets Republicans elected.
Everything about this Administration stinks. They are so afraid of being attacked because they know how corrupt they are. Gangsters are like that, always hiding something.
