A friend of mine called me up to tell me about the headline he heard in an AP newscast on local radio. It’s quite…incomplete. Here’s a story with a more accurate headline.
The “US Army psychiatrist” is of course Nidal Hassan, the Muslim terrorist who opened fire on Ft. Hood, TX on Nov. 5, 2009 and killed 13, wounding 30. Hassan, who was in contact with now dead terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki, has grown a beard while awaiting trial, probably to get himself in line with the Islamic beliefs that led to him shouting “Allahu ackbar!” as he gunned down US military soldiers and civilians. He is playing the religious persecution card.
The US Army forbids beards of any kind among its personnel. The presiding judge has ordered Hassan to shave the beard and threatened to keep him out of the courtroom if he doesn’t. If the Army goes too far in forcing him to shave the beard that he will claim has a religious origin, that is bound to come up in appeal somehow, or at least that’s what he’s banking on. So the mass-murdering terrorist’s beard is holding things up.

He’s still in the military, still subject to lawful orders. He has no chance of appeal on this.
Off with his head.
Then we can hold the trial.
F’ him.
Even your ‘more accurate headline’ doesn’t approach reality.
How about “Fort Hood Terrorist’s trial…”
Or, to really be completely accurate, “Fort Hood Muslim Terrorist’s trial…”
One other thing: 14 people were murdered, not 13. One of the soldiers was with child.
Yep, he’s screwed. All this holdup crap is BS. They should pin him and shave him, which has happened to non muslim soldiers before (Vietnam).
I am about 3/4 hacked off at this point with catering to the enemy at the expense of our own side. My proposed solution:
1) Fort Hood is a training base, and we frequently have foreign troops training there or on exchange status. I would hope that we have Israeli tank corps troops there right now. If not, I am sure that we have some ZAHAL troops somewhere in the country cross training.
2) Get about a half dozen of the biggest, meanest looking IDF troops you can find and assign them to special duty. As an additional thought, if the are some female IDF troopers here, include one of them to the party.
3) The morning before the trial at Zero-Dark-30, an American Light COL or higher gives Major Hasan a direct order to shave immediately, “or else it will be done for him”. If he complies, all well and good. If he does not …
4) The Israeli troops on special duty enter, in uniform, and hold him down and shave his …. “beard”. Yeah, I know. Beard was not the first word I typed, but they would get around to it second.
5) Advise him that for the duration of the trial, it could be repeated pro re nata
On a somewhat less inflammatory note, in my copy next to me of the Manual for Courts Martial, the President of the Court has the specifically detailed in statute duty to prescribe the uniform to be worn by and in the Court. The Trial Counsel [Defense Attorney] has the specifically detailed in statute duty to see that the accused is where he should be, in the uniform he should be in, in accordance with the orders of the President of the Court.
My version may be a bit of wish fulfillment. Replace IDF troopers with MP’s. I would include perhaps someone from the base civilian police force in honor of Police SGT Kimberly Munley, who was shot twice while trying to stop Hasan, and Police SGT Mark Todd who finally shot him. Continue as described.

Former USAF vet “second that motion” agreement.
If the Defense counsel cannot ensure the defendant is properly attired and groomed, then — should the President of the Court demand Nadal be clean-shaven — hold the Defense counsel in contempt of court. Otherwise, let the President of the Court waive the facial hair issue and proceed full-steam-ahead and award Nadal either a hemp-necktie or a terminal case of lead poisoning.
Let’s “beard the lion” in his tent!
Former Army Vet, and third that. He swore an oath to obey legal orders and to conform to a set of rules. Screw him, shave the f’ing thing.
– prior to his beheading, shifted his beard off the chopping block, which had grown during his stay in the Tower, and said “At least it hath not offended the King.”
My understanding was that Hasan was paralyzed from the shoulders down. I don’t see how he would be capable of shaving himself even if he wanted to. Someone is helping him with grooming, just order them to shave him as well …possibly with a cheese grater.
I wonder if that paralytic condition carries over to the afterlife? ’cause that’d be a terrible thang, going to the Paradise of Allah, but not being able to perform…
I heard it on AP Radio Network while I was driving. “AN ARMY PSYCHIATRIST WAS DENIED ACCESS TO THIS MILITARY TRIBUNAL BECAUSE OF HIS BEARD.” Or something really close to that. I was driving.
No further elaboration on the case. That was it. End of sentence.
I knew which case they were referring to, but for the casual listener it could almost be interpreted as this poor soul was being denied his day in court by an unjust United States Army merely because of a sartorial or fashion choice.
What I didn’t hear was ‘Major Nidal Hassan’ or ‘Fort Hood’ or ‘Allahu Ahkbar’ or ’13 Dead. 29 Wounded’, etc. or 14 if Aaradin is correct. I don’t know about that last part.
This is a HUGE case for Americans and the military and THIS is the kind of journalistic malpractice we get from the Associated Press. Most non-brainwashed, non-liberals knew exactly what this atrocity was about as soon as it was reported. That the AP would report this story in this manner tells us more about them than they’d like us to recognize.
Aaradin is correct. The soldier he is referring to had just recently returned from Iraq due to pregnancy, and was at the Soldier Center taking care of her redeployment paperwork and medical screenings (SOP for returning troops) when this good for nothing oxygen thief opened fire. Her pregnancy was briefly mentioned on the national news, and was confirmed by an old Army buddy of mine who was stationed as an MP at Hood when this happened.
That makes immensely sad tale an even sadder story and the hideous part is that this additional life taken means absolutely nothing to those who have chosen to inform us through the media.
The legacy/lefty media has betrayed the American people in so many ways.
“the hideous part is that this additional life taken means absolutely nothing to those who have chosen to inform us through the media.”
Nor does it mean anything extra to the American justice system since unborn children don’t count as human beings in this country.
Perhaps shave him with a weed whacker?
Just Nair the bastard.
Or wax it.
Battery acid and a Dremel moto-tool with a sanding pad
20 or 50 years ago this would be fixed pronto – never would have been an issue. PC seems to have infected our military.
One of the early lessons of the boot camp of 1970 was that you would shave every day, even if all you were growing was down.
Dry shaving in the ranks under the glare of a DI with the old safety razor design, which produced a rather bloody result on the offending recruit, was generally only required once.
Of course, this guy is a POW (he is a muslim terrorist, after all), so you can’t do that to Nidal. Let the beard go, try him, convict him and shoot him by firing squad, strapped sitting up in a chair, if he can’t stand. Shoot him nonetheless.
He’s not a POW because he was a member of our armed forces at the time of the attack. He’s a traitor.
(Regardless, there are no terrorists that deserve POW status. Check the Geneva conventions — only the ones the US signed onto — and that’s clear.)
I read that he is still active duty. Just stop his pay for every day he’s out of uniform.
Who cares? Let the jury see him is his jihadist beard. Have him properly tried and properly shot.
Why is the US Military allowing this savage to make a mockery of this whole affair. Just take him out and execute him and be done with it.
our commander-in-chief, the trial will never take place while he is in office
