The roast beast restaurant chain has gone PC.
On Wednesday, Arby’s inflamed the conservative blogosphere with the announcement on Twitter that it will no longer advertise on Rush Limbaugh’s show. Big mistake. The statement probably would’ve blown over, like all the rest of them, but Arby’s moves following the announcement have awakened a sleeping giant. Shortly after its statement, the Arby’s Twitter account went on a rampage blocking users who disagreed with the franchise…
Bad move, Arby’s. Very bad. So, just retweet my headline with a link to any story about what Arby’s has done, or come up with your own.
And don’t go to their restaurants. You can get a better sandwich every day but Sundays at lots of places including Chik-Fil-A, and if you have to get seasoned curly fries, Jack-in-the-Box is among the fast food joints that sells those. Any of these fast food chains can be replaced, but our freedom of speech is irreplaceable.

I can tell you I’ve eaten at Arby’s once in the last five years (probably longer). Not that I don’t eat at Arby’s because of this, but because I just don’t like their food.
I wasn’t even sure if Arby’s was still around
Last time I ate at Arby’s was 20 years ago, it made me sick. This action does not make me want to return.
i like arby’s but only if it is fresh and then i stil have to slather it with the arby’s sauce.. you can’t re-heat and eat it.. it’s inedible at that point.. so i’ve always wondered what the heck is the “roast beef”?.. it’s pretty nasty if cold.. but like i said.. i like it hot and fresh.. seems here’s another one on my list to not shop at.. the list is getting long.. so many submitting to the minority of this country .. well they know what will happen if they don’t submit. something should be done about these bullies bullying businesses.. it should be against the law to threaten and harass businesses.. there should be fines and punishment.. i’m not a lawyer but i would think there has to be laws against it..
It’s essentially the meat that doesn’t quite measure up to hot dog standards whipped into a paste, shaped and sliced. Calling it roast beef is a stretch.
Finding out that their politics are as repugnant as their food does nothing to make me want to go back.
Arby’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and Budweiser all were purchased by a Brazilian Company. So happens, this Brazilian company owns and operates a retail outlet in Brazil that has yet to post a profit….also they have had employee revolts in many of these Brazilian retail stores.
What are Brazilians telling Americans who to listen to, and vote for? Burger King is a cesspool. Wendy’s has sold more stores to pump up its bottom line, but the menu still has serious shortfalls. Arby’s was always an “also-ran.”
If one were to choose a good fast food restaurant, that’s american and preserves american values…it would be Jack-in-the-Box.
Tell these Brazilian owners, they can take their ideas and socialistic rants back to their communist country. They ruined a great American legacy, Budweiser. It’s all politics, why don’t they focus on getting the original taste back into BUD, HUH?
These Brazilians just don’t know anything about Americans…and they’re buying businesses in the USA and running all of them into the ground.
The new Brazilian owners should go to college, take some courses on how to run an American business in the USA, the American way (and learn to speak English, too). God Bless America.
I agree with almost all of your comment! However, Budweiser would be my favorite guess for the national beer that a communist administration in the US would demand we all drink (when we drink beer).
“If one were to choose a good fast food restaurant, that’s american and preserves american values…it would be Jack-in-the-Box.”
I don’t eat much fast food, but Jack in the Box put a bad taste in my mouth with the ad that ran during last year’s Super Bowl, with Jack celebrating his patriotism by holding up his pet bald eagle “Barack” and his pet Bison, “Sara…”
two words… White Castles..
Rather than say “I never eat at Arby’s”, I’ve written an email to them letting them know that they’ve lost my business. I do get a craving for an Arby’s now and then. I’ll just have to suck it up.
– Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse; kids can wash their prime rib down with Snapple.
suffer!
I sent an email to Arby’s about this. Have not received a response but it may take a few days. I almost added Arby’s back on my fast food rotation due to some of their newer menu stuff. However, I will not go to Arby’s again.
I’m thinking of sending a note to the local Arby’s to let them know of my decision, since they are probably a franchise and have no control over the corporate leftists.
I’d already stopped going to Arby’s when a sudden price increase, which had not yet shown up on their drive thru menu, but had posted to their registers, surprised me at the window.
The manager played that old “what do you want me to do?” game, rather than suggesting a solution, so she could continually tell me, “I’m sorry I cannot do that,” making me the unreasonable one because my requests were always something she couldn’t do.
When I told her skip it, I want a refund, she said, “We can’t refund credit cards, the banks won’t let us.”
When I pointed out to her that the card in question had “DEBIT” clearly written on the front she told me they’d processed it as a credit and they couldn’t undo it.
I told her FOAD and that I would never return!
I haven’t and now I have an added reason never to do so.
I’m with you. My wife and I both liked their later ideas, the Market Fresh sandwiches and the Angus Beef sandwiches, which were actual beef (or so it seemed). We did leave a note on their comment page because we did frequent a couple Arby’s restaurants within a few miles of our house. No more, we’ll be going to either Wendy’s or Chick-Fil-A depending on which direction we go.
Happy Easter/Passover to all.
There are a couple of Roy Rogers restaurants here in Northern Virginia and they have much better roast beef sandwiches …plus chili dogs!
Amen!
Look for a good local place. Eat there often. Stay away from the corporate food. All of it.
Had Chick-Fil-A for lunch today.
Arby’s = Soylent Green.
Well, the thing is, I don’t think it’s going to hurt Arby’s a bit.
For leftists, politics is always a factor in things – what they read, what they watch, what they listen to, who their friends are, and what they buy.
For most of the right, that’s simply not true. (The only real exception being social conservatives, who tend to be very much government authoritarian, only for the stuff they like).
(To a certain extent, it’s because so much of the media (and business) is left wing, you don’t have much choice unless you listen to Ted Nugent all the time…but I think we’re just used to shaking off things we don’t agree with)
With that said, I just don’t understand how anyone could eat there to begin with.
“I’m so hungry I could eat at Arby’s” – Sheri (or Terri) from The Simpsons said while stranded on a desert island without food for a few days.
I stopped going to Arby’s about 20 years ago when they ran a TV ad that was just downright insulting it was so stupid (some screaming jerk) and never looked back.
Any more for the family and me, it’s Chik-fil-a or In-and-Out.
I know this is all about idiotic corporation politics, but what the hey, people? How about simply doing your body a favor and eating REAL unprocessed food like fruits, veggies, & nuts from your local grocery? There’s NO fast food
company that serves anything actually healthy! Or are you all so conditioned by decades of advertising that you’re just weak zombies with no WON’T-power?
Take a look around at what these FAT-PUSHERS have turned this country into. Wise up. Your body really IS a temple and you’re a gullible fool to allow it to turn into an open sewer for a non-stop stream of artery-choking garbage.
And who gives a rat’s patoot who advertises on that rabble-rouser Limbaugh, anyway? Where the hell are your priorities?
Yesterday, I went out of my way to buy a 12-pack of Coke at my local WalMart.
I also routinely make an effort to shop for groceries at non-union supermarkets. I will also now make a concerted effort to avoid GE products, GM or Chrysler products, Arby’s restaurants, or even Carbonite.
