Rewind: NPR says Awlaki can “build bridges between Islam and the West”
The Nov. 2001 NPR report they will forget to mention today
September 30, 2011 - 8:26 am
No doubt missing from National Public Radio’s coverage of Awlaki’s death today will be the following November 1, 2001 report by Mara Eliason, where Awlaki is quoted in contrast to Osama bin Laden as one of the “moderates who want to solve the problems without violence” and someone who could “build bridges between Islam and the West”.
The Awlaki interview begins ~1:30 in.

I caught a little bit of FRONTLINE the other night, and they were talking about the Ground Zero Mosque. Unsurprisingly, the voiceover guy with the super-serious voice made some statement about Imam Rauf being a “moderate Muslim” – a statement of fact. Perhaps this is true, but I am aware of people arguing to the contrary; fortunately, PBS interprets the facts for me with its hard-hitting investigative journalism. I’m looking forward to the episode of FRONTLINE about Operation Fast & Furious…………..heh.
More like building secret tunnels so as to slip into America, some of Satan’s own jihad.
Watching “Fast and Furious” finger pointing and obfuscation of the truth and the criminal acts of appointed government officials just proves that you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time.
Anlaki’s death can serve as a reminder of that same axiom.
Who is Mara Eliason? The link is dead, so is there any way to verify what is being reported?
