On the Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) laid bare the Democrats’ only real strategy when he addressed their threat to “restructure” the Supreme Court if they don’t get their way on gun control.

Noting that it’s a “dream of every leftist is to have a liberal court enacting laws from the bench,” Graham went on to explain that it’s essentially their way of getting a do-over when they crash and burn at the ballot box.

This isn’t a new strategy at all for the Democrats. Twenty-three years ago, the late-great Robert Bork published a brilliant but under-read book titled Slouching Towards Gomorrah: Modern Liberalism and American Decline. In it, Bork detailed and predicted the liberal desire to pack American courts with activist judges who were comfortable with legislating from the bench.

That plan obviously works best if they are in control of the Supreme Court, and not running the risk of having lower court nonsense overturned. As that isn’t the case for them at present, they need to fundamentally change the court.
