Detransitioner Speaks Out Against Trans Indoctrination Books in Texas School

It is always refreshing to see former transgenders speaking out against the indoctrination mafia that has been allowed to slip into our schools.

One recent case, courtesy of the indispensable Libs of TikTok, shows a young woman named Emily Schmidt describing how she was groomed into being transgender and how her school, part of the Port-Neches-Groves Independent School District (PNG-ISD), played "a huge part" in it.

Schmidt described how media similar to a book called "Lily and Dunkin," mistakenly referred to as "Lily and Duncan" by Libs of TikTok, was freely available to her at school and induced gender dysphoria in her, which led to suicidal ideation.

"I am here to ask you why do you want to teach children that their bodies are wrong? Why do you want to teach children that self-hatred is good? Why do you want to teach children that they need to chop off healthy body parts in order to find true happiness? Why did people like you tell me as a little girl that I needed to self-harm in order to be truly happy?" Schmidt asked.

The hearing where Schmidt asked these tough questions occurred in mid-April after a concerned parent pointed out that the book "Lily and Dunkin" was available to 5th graders. When he objected to its placement there, the Conroe Independent School District moved it up a couple of grades rather than remove it entirely.

So what is this "Lily and Dunkin" book, exactly?

According to a Substack called "Two Moms and Some Books," this tale of trannydom involves a boy named Timothy who wants to be a girl named "Lily," and his relationship with another boy named Norbert, who is nicknamed "Dunkin" and has severe bipolar disorder.

The book contains such lovely excerpts as the mom of one of Timothy's friends doing makeup for him and telling him not to tell his parents at a sleepover and how he "knew" he was a girl at age five (apparently trying to mutilate himself with nail trimmers), the boy receiving puberty blockers, and Timothy pulling the classic emotional blackmail question of "do you want a dead son or live daughter?"

Oh yeah, and the Dunkin kid is involuntarily committed because he skips his bipolar meds, has severe manic episodes because of it, and is in denial over his father's suicide.

And this is for kids?

According to the Texas Scorecard, the Conroe Independent School District seemed to think so, as the vote to remove this book failed 3-3-1.

Hopefully, parents are appealing to have a new vote.

Around the same time this hearing featuring Schmidt was occurring, I was writing about a different piece of trans propaganda available at Bramlett Elementary in Auburn, Georgia.

That one involved a dog puppet named "Barry" wanting to be a cat, which another dog puppet named "Gulliver" objects to. A human woman tells the Gulliver puppet to just let Barry think himself a cat, which, as Matt Walsh pointed out, inadvertently disproves transgenderism's own point that if you identify as something, you are that something, and everyone else must act like it.

At least that one kept itself age-appropriate.
