Your ♡bamaCare!!! Fail of the Day

I’m so old I can remember when ♡bamaCare!!! was going to reduce the deficit — but 2010 was a more innocent time. Anyway, here’s what the settled law of the land is doing in real life:

The Congressional Budget Office reported Wednesday that the federal government saw a higher budget deficit in the first half of fiscal year 2015 compared to 2014, and said higher spending due to Obamacare is part of the reason.

CBO said the budget deficit was $430 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2015, a $17 billion increase. While there were several contributing factors to that increase, CBO said spending on Obamacare was a significant change from 2014 to 2015.

And we haven’t even gotten to 2018’s Cadillac tax, which promises to force millions more into the exchanges, where millions more will receive taxpayer subsidies instead of employer benefits.

$17 billion, I might add, would buy us two or three Ford-class aircraft carriers, with a lifespan of about 50 years apiece. Alternately, it could have bought us another 125 or so F-22 Raptors, or more than paid for the development and construction of the first replacement boat for our aging Ohio-class missile submarines.

But instead, we’ll spend that much and in every increasing amounts, every year forever, trying to make crappy health coverage slightly more affordable to a captive market of sometimes unwilling customers.
