Shaq and Barkley Go At It and Make Sports Commentary Fun Again
Back in ancient times, before ESPN and Bob Costas mistakenly thought we were interested in their political opinions, sports commentary and broadcasting used to be fun. Heck, even Keith Olbermann was enjoyable twenty years ago before the political plague infected him too.
On air, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley are free from the need to be taken seriously about anything other than sports. They even make that fun. The two were discussing the benching of Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan for poor play against the Cleveland Cavaliers in a playoff game.
Sir Charles took the modern side, saying that it was out of line and disrespectful to the team's best player.
Shaq was having none of the participation trophy nonsense, insisting that even stars shouldn't be babied.
