Roger Goodell Is a Weak, Hot Mess During Anthem Protest Press Conference

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held a press conference to address a specific issue and, despite devoting a lot of time to doing so, managed to not address it at all.

He's ready for a political career now.

He reaffirms the league's respect for the flag and says it would like all players to stand for the anthem. That's delivered in a voice that's flat even for Goodell. When he talks about working with the players to do some good, he's slightly more animated. Rather than decisively deal with this, Goodell and the team owners seem content to pretend it will all just go away already.
