Trump's 'Real News' Avoids Any Mention of His Charlottesville Moral Equivalency

President Trump has been publishing his own weekly news update. Calling it “Real News,” he thinks this is the way to circumvent the mainstream media and talk directly to the people. It’s hosted by Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law. And in this week’s attempt to correct the record, she said the president had condemned the Charlotesville rioters in “the strongest possible terms.” But there was no mention of him saying there were “fine people” on both sides, no mention of him inserting himself into the debate over Confederate statues, no mention of him coining the phrase “alt-Left.” In other words, there was no reference to any of his moral equivalency. Is it possible that this proves Trump is embarrassed by having said these things? All of the supporters coming to his defense might need to take a step back and realize that drawing moral equivalency between neo-Nazis and their counter-protesters might be something that Trump himself isn’t proud of.
