In the wake of a horrific shooting at a Santa Fe, Texas, high school, a publicity hound showed up carrying an American flag and showing off a gun on his hip, rattling traumatized bystanders at the scene of the massacre. At this hour there are eight reported fatalities at Santa Fe High School near Houston, and at least one shooter is in police custody.
Asked by a reporter what was going through his mind when he heard about the shooting, the unidentified man said, “Make America great again!”
The reporter pressed him, asking what his “plan of action” is. The man replied, “Just offering support. ‘God bless you all’ will go a long ways for a lot of people right now.”
An angry bystander who had been watching the interview said, “We need prayers.” He added, “This idiot is walking down the street with a damn pistol on his side where we just had kids get shot.”
“I’m a gun rights person. I have guns,” he said. “But this idiot is walking down here and saying that he needs to make America great again. That’s not what America needs. America needs prayers. We don’t need this crap. I’m sorry, I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in everything. But this guy here is walking into a crime scene with a pistol on him and I hope they get him because this is a crime scene. This is an embarrassment.”
Texas is an open carry state, so the man was within his rights to carry his firearm for all the world to see. But just because you have the right to do something doesn’t make it right. This guy is every bit as despicable as the gun-grabbers on the left tripping all over each other to be the first to politicize a terrible tragedy. I’m sure he’s thrilled that he got his smug face on camera, but this was neither the time nor the place for a MAGA Second Amendment show. Go home and pray for those kids and their families, mister.
