Meet the Grandson of a Holocaust Survivor, a Former Marine Who Is Running for Senate

Josh Mandel, the Ohio state treasurer, was a candidate for Senate in 2012 and lost to Democrat Sherrod Brown. He announced today that he’s running again in 2018, and with videos like this, he might pull it off this go-around. He describes himself as the progeny of fighters, having one grandfather who was a holocaust survivor and one who fought in World War II. Mandel himself served in the Marines and did two tours in Iraq. He echoed some of Donald Trump’s messages, like addressing the threat of “Radical Islam” and wanting to “Drain the swamp.” And Mandel also said he’ll always remember that we’re a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values, and that he will never cease to uphold those principles. This guy would be such an interesting voice in the US Senate!
