GOP Veteran With Pre-Existing Condition Shoots Down Dem Health Care Lies in 1 Minute

The Republican bill to repeal and replace parts of Obamacare passed on Thursday, and between choruses, Democrats have been attacking the bill as dangerous for people with pre-existing conditions. One of those Americans with a pre-existing condition, who also happens to be a U.S. Army veteran who lost both his legs in Kandahar, spoke in favor of the bill and denounced the Democrats' history of bold-faced lies.

"I, too, am a person with pre-existing conditions, and I believe it's not just something I should do, it's a responsibility for me to be the staunchest advocate for people out there that have pre-existing conditions, and that is why I am such an ardent supporter of this bill," Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) declared on the House floor Thursday.

Mast argued that people with pre-existing conditions cannot get coverage under Obamacare, because how can "they have coverage if every single insurance provider has pulled out of the market"?

If the Republican Obamacare replacement won't remove coverage from people with pre-existing conditions, why are Democrats saying that it will? "Who is it that's going out there and saying that pre-existing conditions won't be covered?" Mast asked.

"It is the exact same group of people that went out there and lied to the face of every single American, telling them that if they like their plan, they would keep their plan; if they like their doctor, they would keep their doctor; that the average American family was going to save $2,500 or more on health insurance," Mast declared.

"That was a bold face lie, and it was orchestrated by architects who specifically went out with the intention to prey on the American people," the veteran concluded. "That is who's out there selling lies against my party."

Mast has a point. The GOP health bill is far from perfect, but it is being attacked by many of the same Democrats who promised the moon under Obamacare, and who were proven wrong time and time again. Perhaps the American people should take their criticisms with a grain of salt.
