On 'Tucker Carlson Tonight,' Jonathan Gruber Once Again Insults the American People

It’s amazing that ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber is still willing to appear in public after being caught insulting the American people over and over again in appearances after the unpopular law was shoved down Americans’ throats.

Gruber, an MIT professor of economics, famously cited the “lack of transparency” in crafting and selling ObamaCare as “a huge political advantage,” and credited “the stupidity of the American voter”  as being “really really critical for the thing to pass.”

In another appearance, Gruber said, “American voters are too stupid to understand the difference” of the language of the ObamaCare legislation. In yet another appearance he bragged that one aspect of the law — the Cadillac tax — “was a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter.”

Gruber was asked to comment on the disastrous rollout of Obamacare during an interview in 2013. In another insult to the intelligence of the American voter, he said that going forward, “the short attention span of the American public” would work to the president’s advantage. “A year from now when the law’s working, it will be long forgotten,” the arrogant elitist insisted.

Fast forward a few more years to last night on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” where Gruber said ObamaCare is working “as designed” and has benefited millions of people, arguing that the only reason it remains unpopular is because “Americans just don’t understand what this law has done for them.”

Carlson thanked Gruber for his honesty.
