President Trump made a stop at CIA headquarters on Saturday to let the intelligence community know that they have his full support.
“There’s no one more supportive of the CIA” than me, the president said to the hundreds of officials at the George Bush Center for Intelligence in Langley, Va., on his first full day in office.
Speaking off the cuff, Trump couldn’t resist getting in a few digs at the mainstream media.
“And the reason you’re my first stop is that, as you know, I have a running war with the media. They are among the most dishonest human beings on Earth,” he said to cheering and applause. “And they sort of made it sound like I had a feud with the intelligence community, and I just want to let you know that the reason you’re my number one stop is exactly the opposite. Exactly! And they understand that too.”
